Today, the combined burden of federal, state and local gas taxes costs American drivers an average of 45.9 cents on every gallon purchased. Federal stimulus money to repair roads.

When Democrats do something that costs money, they add to our children's crippling debt. When Dispatch pal Tiberi has us borrow another $10 billion, it's "relief" that puts "cash back into the pockets of strapped retailers."

Ohio's most reliably Republican newspaper.

Uh, right. Thank goodness roads and highways fix themselves. Sir, blaming Democrats for gasoline taxes is like blaming them for school levies -- these are not partisan issues, and people like you should be banned from voting.

Simple. Republicans drew his district lines. Put Pat Tiberi in a truly competitive district and he'll be in for the run of his life.

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn`t buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.(Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.

A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.

If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.

A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

Sir, what you don't understand is that gas tax is siphoned off into other uses. If you aren't going to use it for transporation upgrades, yes let it go.

As of now, the stimulus money is being used for roads, once again something in place of the gasoline taxes.

And when it comes to taxing philosophy, yes it is partisan. We are being overtaxed, Democrat mostly, but Republicans too.

All they did is change the Net operating loss carryback provisions - instead of carrying back your federal net operating loss for 2 years, and then whatever is left forward into future years, they are allowing corporations to carry this NOL back for five years, with the remaining balance into future years.

It is all a timing issue as to when the NOL is used. If you have $100 loss and carry it back, you can get $35 now by amending old returns and applying that $100 loss to past profits. However, you will not be able to apply that $100 to future profits, so in theory, the corporation will be paying more taxes in the future.

In case you have not noticed, retailers and a lot of other businesses have not made money the last two years - it is a way to help improve cash flow now, but their future taxes will be higher.

David Scott IS spot on. However, in a true 21st
century-based district, Mr. Tiberi would not have
been re-elected, and currently selling Nationwide insurance or working for Dispatch Enterprises.
No fan of Tiberi

Probably insurance. The Dispatch isnt doin so good. The NRA might have snatched him up as a lobbyist. He could count how many kids got killed because of his votes. Maybe have little notches or something.
