Most Hispanic-Americans support hermetically sealing the border. Amnesty should not occur until we have better border security.
Terrible recent reports of a record pace of deaths of illegal aliens in the U.S. desert and in Mexico at the hands of ruthless gangs point an accusatory finger at the political, media and religious leaders of this country who talk incessantly about their plans to reward the act of illegal immigration with U.S. citizenship.
It is not a stretch at all to say that people who talk big about winning a "comprehensive immigration reform" amnesty bear great guilt for enticing these illegal aliens to their deaths.
Amazingly, many pro-amnesty leaders and reporters have been saying that those of us who push for crackdowns on illegal immigration somehow have contributed to these deaths.
Humanitarian groups such as Humane Borders in Tucson say that the increased law enforcement presence only means that people will go to greater lengths to come to the U.S. -- "Border deaths in Arizona may break record," by Nicole Santa Cruz, Los Angeles Times, Aug. 24, 2010
Got that? Greater law enforcement to make it more difficult to get into Arizona and to stay in Arizona supposedly has caused illegal aliens to be more enthusiastic about risking their lives.
