Sen. Kirk Views Flooding

Senator Kirk, Seems you have your casino and its profits in mind, after flooding Missouri.., YET you Illinoian's didnt care at all about our farming industry at all here in Missouri-go figure that! I am pushing that Missouri sues the heck out of Illinois, the Army Corp of Engineers and everyone else involved in your decision.., how fair is it that Missourians take the brunt of it over a dump such as Cairo Illinois..and yet not one of you Senators were interested in helping the city out for years when city government callapsed, for exact same reason why we Missourian's felt that levee should not be blown, which is because Cairo Illinois was NOT WORTH THE DEVASTATION WE'D FACE HERE. I want you to know something Kirk, and that is NOW since you've blown our levee.., there are FAR MORE LIVES AFFECTED, than 110 homes, try thousands and thousands of lives, and families homes.., far more people than in Cairo Illinois for sure, not to mention our farming industry here.., YET when the camera's come on.., all the sudden you take an interest in Cairo Illinois??? What a joke.., you should be ashamed of yourself and the part in which you took in this man made disaster of blowing our levee. I hope Missouri sues Illinois and forces your state to npay every single penny for restoration of everyone's lives you injured, and our farming industry. I will never spend another penny in your selfish, state. By the way, why dont you get your people back on your side of the bridge too and stop sending them over here for our Missouri jobs.

Wait a second... weren't you already aware that the land in the floodway could be use at any given time by the Corps of Engineers to alleviate the strain that the rivers could produce? As far as I know, the feds own that part of the land and gave the deeds to the farmers so they can use it for agriculture. That didn't mean they would NEVER HAVE TO USE IT for the purpose it was built for. You want to talk about selfishness... seems that your words were just as selfish as you say the state of Illinois was for wanting to save at least 5 towns along those rivers. There's crop insurance that will be honored because of this. And lastly, it was the Army Corps of Engineers that ultimately made the decision to blow the levees, not Illinois. And as quick as the rivers were rising, that area was going to flood anyhow. I've been on that levee myself and it would've breached whether they blew it or not. You're just mad because man flooded it first instead of nature doing it. It's easy to blame man for doing something than it is to accept nature doing that same damage. At least now you can deal with the government about making things right. If nature breached the levee, you'd be screwed!
