Romney 'of course' would have given bin Laden order

Full story: CNN

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney asserted firmly Monday he would have given the order to kill Osama bin Laden if he were president, despite past comments in which he questioned the value of hunting down the former al Qaeda chief.

And they seem to be forgetting that it was intel collected during the Bush administration that set in motion the operation to kill Bin Laden in the the first place.

I'll give credit to Obama for giving the order..but McCain would have done the same. Political points?: 0

Rmoney is an empty suit. If there's no profit in something, he isn't interested.

Of course you are entirely incorrect.

Mitt Romney accepted no salary as Governor of Massachusetts, and he accepted no salary as President of the Olympic Games. He also personally led the effort to find a friend's missing teenage daughter who disappeared after a party:

Exactly what profit did he derive from that?

Then that gives him one less personal motive to run for President, doesn't it? I guess he won't need to run around the world charging folks a quarter million to make a speech, or try to sell any books, either.

if that were the case, he would clearly not run for any kind of office, as he could make 10 times the money in the private sector...

Exactly. Why subject oneself to the bitter attacks of a modern political campaign unless one believes what they are doing to be for good cause?

I may not agree with every single policy Mitt Romney, or any candidate for office, puts forth. But there are clear differences in ideology between Romney, the free-marketer, and Obama, the socialist who just won't admit to himself what free-marketers already know, and what other socialists deny, merely because socialists have an aversion (and rightfully so) to uttering the word "socialist" in public.

We know Obama's policies have failed. We know that government is standing in the way of real progress, rather than encouraging it. Some in this nation, sadly, are actually applauding the demise of the United States as we know it...they just refuse to admit it, knowing how it would make them look to others.

Glad he did, now if Romney would only admit that his business style cost/benefit analysis of the situation would have meant that he would never even found Bin Laden because he wouldn't have put the resources into it, that would be truly honorable.

If only Obama would admit that he's taken credit for a military operation that President George W. Bush laid the groundwork for, after Obama, as Senator, opposed that very same military action in the first place.

read todays article in the WSJ online (free) about osama and his bragging rights.....tells the story how past presidents have given credit to others, while obama takes full credit for this.
