Alaska’s 2006 Gubernatorial election garnered a total turnout of 238,307 voters, 114,697 voting for Palin (48.3%). If her approval rating is 80% of total turnout we have 190,645. If its 80% of those who voted for her, its 91,757. Either way, those approval numbers don’t amount to anything that will sway the nation.Great choice!
I advise everyone to learn more about Sarah.
She has a 80% approval rating as Governor!
We are about to learn why Alaskans love her.

That is true. McCain will win Alaska! It's always a red State, and this Election likely the only State that will vote for him. That woman is very popular in Alaska but then again, Alaska is mostly lust filled men. They love her there. Maybe McCain should run as President of Alaska? I bet he could win that one. All three of the lust filled men that live in that State will vote for him considering he has a 44 year old female on the ticket. 44-year-old female in Alaska is like 22 in the lower 48. Even an 80-year-old bald woman can get lucky in that State. |

1 Oh please. She's a Pentecostal fanatic who named one kid after a math class and the other after gym class. She terrifies me. No sane woman would vote for an anti-abortion fundie. |

Two words, and I don't know if I can say this on here, but anyways...dumb ass.
To: John McCain Sarah Palin, I mean, who the hell is that?! In what sense does a governer from alaska have the experience in any way to run a country or even stand next to someone who might. Sir, you have out-retarded yourself. In a sense you may have solidified your right wing, hidden agenda, oil mongering, enviornment killing, population decieving, lying, cheating, and downright racist base. But any self respecting woman, any correctly educated person, and any person who actually wants this country to progress and become the great nation it could be, will either not vote for you, or, more probably, vote for Obama/Biden. Take a bow Mr. McCain! Lets just hope that this time you arent so out of your f**king mind that you remember to wear pants. And again...Dumb ass! |

You democrats are so desperate. 80% approval for a politician is phenomenal. Look at the democrat congress rating of 9% Democrats have been wailing about getting someone outside the beltway, and when republicans do exactly that ... they whine she has no federal government experience.... LOL ... such childish hypocrisy. Really ... Sarah is bright and very likeable ... and she is going to win people over ... even democrats ... exept those who are card carrying members of the huffington post/moveon club ... you'll see. |

I may very well come to respect her abilities and to like her personality, but I'll never support an anti-gay, anti-choice, anti-science fundamentalist. While I'm curious to learn more about her, that's really all I need to know to make my decision. |
No chance of that. McAin't has been limp for years and no dosage of Viagra can help him. Meanwhile Cindy has her eyes of Palin's studley hubby with plans. There would be times when the Veep is out of Washington visiting in faraway Alaska and the old fart is out like a light for the night. Cindy and the younger guy will steam up the Lincoln bedroom. |

You have posted this crap over and over and even tho asked to provide a link..YOu refuse! You sir are not helping the republican party by doing these type of things. It makes you look like you are reverting to Rovian campaign tactics.Which allow people to make the comparison between Mccain and Bush. TO which no-one not DEM REPUB OR IND want another Bush. Keep up the good work! The Dems appreciate it. |

What the heck are you trying to say here? Are you trying to claim that Obama is gay and will be killed? I may not be following in this regard. |

Presumably, Horse Feathers is referring to this: http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp... The bombshell may involve the murder of Donald Young, a 47-year-old choir master at former Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ—the same congregation that Obama has attended for the past 20 years. Two other young black men that attended the same church—Larry Bland and Nate Spencer—were also murdered execution style with bullets to the backs of their heads—all within 40 days of each other, beginning in November 2007. All three were openly homosexual. What links this story to Barack Obama is that, according to an acquaintance of Obama, Larry Sinclair, Obama is a closet bisexual with whom he had sexual and drug-related encounters in November 1999. Further, Sinclair claims that Obama was friendly with at least two of these deceased parishioners, and that choir director Donald had contacted him shortly before being murdered from multiple gunshot wounds on December 23, 2007. |

Well, CA, that's the advantage of choosing someone completely unknown fresh from the Alaska Wilderness. She probably hasn't had much need to comment on those issues as mayor of Wasila, and the election for governorship was won on local corruption issues. We do know that she favors more pipelines and more drilling in Alaska.
But like any good Vice Presidential candidate, we will undoubtedly find over the next nine weeks that her positions precisely match McPlain's. He sets the agenda, and she'll follow until death or the electorate do them part.

LMQAO. Is this like that Abraham Lincoln thing. It is a known fact that James Buchanon, before him, was gay. |

1 At least I can read the books Obama wrote by himself, talk to the people he taught in law school, read the legislation he's passed or worked on, hear his speeches, read his prososals and know that he's an incredibly smart, intellectually active and curious guy who will think things through and listen to lots of points of view. This woman? I'm not sure Palin even got to HEAR that many points of view when the biggest city she's ever lived in is an Idaho university town. |

Let's be honest, she does everything McCain needs:
injects conservatism, youth, evangelicalism, women's-rights, change and a candidate that completely switches the tables on Obama's complaints about sending the same politicians back to Washington year after year. If you're McCain, what more could you really ask for???? |

alin candidacy raises eyebrows in Alaska
-- Associated Press • August 30, 2008 ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's reputation as a crusading reformer after pushing through higher taxes on oil companies has been tarnished by revelations that members of her staff tried to have her former brother-in-law fired from his job as an Alaska state trooper. Advertisement State lawmakers have launched a $100,000 investigation to determine if Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan last month because Monegan wouldn't fire a state trooper involved in a messy custody battle with her sister. She also is under fire from environmentalists for opposing the Bush administration's decision in May to list the polar bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act because global warming is melting the polar ice cap. Palin said the decision could damage the state's and nation's economy. Palin's approval ratings have ranged from 79 percent to 86 percent, said Mark Hellenthal, a Republican pollster in Alaska. "She's like Saint Sarah up here," according to Hellenthal. But she's hardly without strong critics. Dermot Cole, a longtime columnist for Alaska's second-largest newspaper, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, called McCain's choice of Palin reckless and questioned her credentials. "Sarah Palin's chief qualification for being elected governor was that she was not Frank Murkowski," Cole said of her enormously unpopular predecessor, who lost favor with Alaskans in part because of unpopular budget cuts. "She was not elected because she was a conservative. She was not elected because of her grasp of issues or because of her track record as the mayor of Wasilla." |
