DEBUNKING THE NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE: MORE ON OBAMA AND HIS TERRORIST PAL
October 6, 10:45 AM

Stanley Kurtz takes apart the New York Time's puff piece article which downplays the long relationship between Obama and the unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist, Bill Ayers.

The article, written by New York Times reporter Scott Shane, was the catalyst for Governor Sarah Palin's remark that Obama pals around with terrorists.

Shane's "irresponsible journalism" is an obvious effort to protect Obama and makes no serious attempt to present the views of Obama critics who have worked to uncover the true nature of the Obama/Ayers relationship. Let's look at the details:

1) Sporadic Relationship:

There is nothing "sporadic" about Barack Obama delivering hundreds of thousands of dollars over a period of many years to fund Bill Ayers’ radical education projects, not to mention many millions more to benefit Ayers’ radical education allies. We are talking about a substantial and lengthy working relationship here, one that does not depend on the quality of personal friendship or number of hours spent in the same room together (although the article greatly underestimates that as well).

2) Ayers Redeemed:

Shane’s article buys the spin on Ayers’ supposed rehabilitation offered by the Obama campaign and Ayers’ supporters in Chicago. In this view, whatever Ayers did in the 1960's has somehow been redeemed by Ayers’ later turn to education work.
The trouble with this is that Ayers doesn’t view his terrorism as a mistake. How can he be forgiven when he’s not repentant? Nor does Ayers see his education work as a repudiation of his early radicalism. On the contrary, Ayers sees his education work as carrying on his radicalism in a new guise. The point of Ayers’ education theory is that the United States is a fundamentally racist and oppressive nation. Students, Ayers believes, ought to be encouraged to resist this oppression. Obama was funding Ayers’ "small schools" project, built around this philosophy. Ayers’ radicalism isn’t something in the past. It’s something to which Obama gave moral and financial support as an adult.

3) Obama Endorsed Ayers' Radical Views:

Obama was perfectly aware of Ayers’ radical views, since he read and publicly endorsed, without qualification, Ayers’ book on juvenile crime. That book is quite radical, expressing doubts about whether we ought to have a prison system at all, comparing America to South Africa’s apartheid system, and contemptuously dismissing the idea of the United States as a kind or just country. Shane mentions the book endorsement, yet says nothing about the book’s actual content. Nor does Shane mention the panel about Ayers’ book, on which Obama spoke as part of a joint Ayers-Obama effort to sink the 1998 Illinois juvenile crime bill. Again, we have unmistakable evidence of a substantial political working relationship.

4) Hiding The Facts:

Shane’s story also omits any mention of the fact that access to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge records was blocked. What’s more, thanks to a University of Chicago law student’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, we now know that access to the documents was blocked by an old Obama associate, Ken Rolling, on the day I first tried to see them. And as a result of my own FOIA, we also have evidence that Rolling may have been less than fully forthcoming on the question of Ayers’ possible role in elevating Obama to board chair at Anneberg. In fact, Rolling seems to have been withholding information from a New York Times reporter. I’ve made this material public in a piece called, "Founding Brothers."

Obama and his elite media allies, such as Scott Shane, continue to downplay the Obama/Ayers association. I remain thankful that Governor Palin and Stanley Kurtz will not let them get away with it.

face the facts man you are a sexist asshole who thinks women are made up of one body part .
you have no respect for women who ae successful and hold authority .
and then you cannot even be true to your own views .
your hypocracy is apparent and your utter hate for women is evident in your posts .
I myself believe Governor Palin to be more qualified than a first term senator who served less than 130 days before allowing his ego to take over and changing his mind about running for president .
he has since appealed to every radical group in this country for support all the while switching positions on just about every platform issue he has mentioned and continues to evolove into a blabbering fool at every appearance .
he has been out of this country one time and claims superior foreign policy experiance , he has used illegal drugs and accociated himself with the worst of the worst ,bill ayers, farahkan, rezko, wright and radical black liberation theology .
but yet you maintain his complete readiness to be the POTUS ,I seriously have to wonder by what criteria you judge him .
it certianly cannot be by integrity .
Palin is a dumb dingy broad making a fool of herself on the world stage. She's to ignorant to see the spectacle she's made of herself.

Palin is a world class, worldwide JOKE !!

You're just as dumb as Palin. Alaska has the 45th largest economy in the country 45th out of 50.

less than 100,000 people voted in her gubernatorial race and less than 2000 in her Mayorial race. Here in the U.S and worldwide the jokes are plentiful.

The lady is a ding and it appears you are as well. However it is common knowledge Palin does appear to the countries nitwits and bottom feeders.

OK,

here it is.

I support Barack Obama because he brings a large measure of intellect and reason to the office of the Presinent that has been sorely lacking in the past eight years.

He has demonstrated a command of the issues and a real attemt to address them. This is difficult in an arena the media hype that has surrounds the campaign.

He was right on the Iraq war, he was right on the surge, as it still has not accomplished the goal of establishing a permanent constitutional government in Iraq. We are still spending $10 billion dollers a month to prop up this hollow regiem that does not have the will to govern itself.

He is of common stock, brought up in a single parent + grandparent household that tought that effort and dillignet would bring success.

He earned a Havard degree (Presinent of the Havard Law Review) and could have walked into any law firm in the country and named his price.

Instead, he chose to work with the undercalss of Chicago and make a difference for the people who really needed it.

He was a Community Organizer.(Oh God, not that)

He's got the chops to run this country.

Nobody else currently running for President does.

That is why I support Barack Obama.

Oh, by the way, all those things that McCain is saying about Obama are lies.

They flushed those lies out in the primary.

I guess old John wasn't paying attention then.

Sad old John will lose too.

God Bless

Now that wasn't so hard was it ?

what if your wrong ?

what if obama really is an inexperianced man who caan speak ? I know several here around where I live ,those guys in the general population are called con artists and frauds .

oh they sound good they even look good and by all accounts they seem to know what they talk about at least intellectually but practically is another story .

I dare say that obamas past is his past and not all of it is or can be hidden ,,he really did start his political career in the home of a domestic terrorist ,, and he really did go to kenya to support odinga and he really did do drugs including cocaine ,,those are all things which are documented and cannot be hidden .

now there are questions about his citizenship and there are questions about his enrollment at columbia but those things right now cannot be validated and based on that they also cannot be invalidated .

His time at harvard produced a person who was president of the harvard law review also not in dispute but he did not do a paper in that position which is not normal , I have heard about the job offers but I have not seen one top company come out and say that they tried to hire him but were refused .

again what if you are wrong ?

Obamas plans for america which I have listened to very intently sound alot like the old adage (If it sounds to good to be true it probably is )

this is how a person decides if he is being lead down the rosy path ,warnings go out from law enforcement concerning bogus claims of riches all the time and this is what they use to warn the public ,,seems fitting to me .

again what if you are wrong ?

What if i'm wrong?

First of all, I'm not.

Secondly, if we get a president who is irrational, with a tendency to gamble, and not vet important choices, then we will certainly be in a world of poop.

John McCain is now the laughing stock of the conservative world.

Most cosnservatives now want him to lose so that they can say that it is what you get when you pick a "compramise candidate"

John McCain will be in the poly Sci textbooks for the next hundred years (and more) as an example of how to throw away an election.

God Bless stupid polititians like John McCain.

He has saved America by not getting elected.

LOL First off you are wrong and have been wrong all along .

I gave you several examples of where you are wrong .

non acceptance does not constitute right .

lack of reason and common sense does not equate to intelligence .

and saying your right means zero to me .

tell me why you are right and maybe then you may have something .

why is it that you cannot post with substance just shallow BS ?

were right back to where we started , you did not make any rational arguements in opposition to the facts I gave .

First of all, I want to thank John McCain for intentionally running the most stupid, boneheaded, ill-managed, wrongly exucuted, poorly planned campaing in modern history.

It is obvious that he has known for quite some time that he is not the most qualified candidate in the race. He acknowleges that fact. He has truely decided to "put country first" and defer to the most qualified candidate (Obama). He will not come out and say these things "face up" but his actions tell a louder and more truthful tale. And here is the proof...

1. He did not opt out of public financing. He knew Obama was going for private funding, he's got rich supporters who would match or exceed Obamas funding sources, so he chose to under-fund his campaign.

2. He chose the Karl Rove path of getting elected. McCains success comes from being John McCain. "Strait Talk". This campaign was not John McCain/Strait Talk. This campiagn was Karl Rove and sleaze and lies and obvuscation and the rest of the Bush/Rove legacy that has turned off the American people for at least the past election cycle.(Remember 2006?)

3. Sarah Palin. I need not say more.

4. Campaigning in lost states when swing states that are still in play are left to Obama.(Maybe he likes the good beer in Wisconson)(Budweiser does suck, I can't blame him there)

Anyway, it is indeed a great personal sacrifice that John McCain has done to intentionally blow the election to insure that the most qualified candidate gets elected. He is a hero and patriot in my book.

It is just too bad that George W.(Boy George) Bush could not manage to bring his patriotism up to McCains level.

God Bless

LOL pure conjecture , Obama has no integrity which you so clearly showed with your remarks concerning campaign finance .

if that your desire for a president ? which obviously it is not with your remarks concerning Bush ,, then vote for the great divider and socialist .

we will all pay for your inept approach to voting in a Presidential election .

You make a charge out of the air with regard to lack of inegrity. Obama made it clear that be was bypassing the government campaign welfare that McCain soaks up.

Speaking of lack of integrity, did you see where McCain is blaming Obama for invading "Joe the Plumber's" private life when it was in fact McCain himself that dragged this poor man into the spotlight during the debates, and still continues to do so.

Bush is Boy George. Get over it.
