How do you propose to raise taxes, give the money to Washington politicians and then expect them not to waste it and continue to spend more than they take in???
Pelosi's Congress took off right where the last one did. Washington has enough money, the issue is they need a spending lesson and giving them more money is not a solution. By the way, as a % of our GNP our debt is still far lower than many nations on the globe we trade with!

Personally, I am not excited about either candidate's personal history. They both lack something to be desired. Based on that, I will vote based policy issues. McCain will reduce spending. How? Has he said where he will cut? I haven't heard it. Bush said the same thing 8 years ago. He NEVER cut spending, but he did cut income, and he INCREASED spending. McCain has said that he will balance the budget in 4 years. Has he said how? It's not possible. McCain knows that and you know it, too. The last fiscally conservative Republican was Reagan. Clinton was more fiscally conservative than George W. Bust and McCain. Obama has, at least, been honest about it. He WILL raise taxes for people making $250,000+ per year. He is going to LOWER taxes on the middle class which I am all for. The MIDDLE CLASS drives the economy, not corporations. When the middle class struggles, the economy struggles as witnessed over the last few years. Many corporations are fiscally sound--especially the oil companies. Plus, he will at least not continue to spend our tax dollars on a fruitless war effort. That money will at least be used to help the American citizen. What are McCain proposals? All I've heard is what he doesn't like about Obama. The truth is that he will the approach of President Bust and things will continue to get worse. |

One question, isn't he going to take the troops out of Iraq and put hem in Afghanistan?Just how many troops will he leave in Iraq to protect, government officals?40,000,60,000,if he does not get them all out,and a full blown civil war, starts again,it will be,a bloodbath worse than vietnam. To be honest, neither candidate is worth my vote..we need to fire the whole bunch and start over.. |

I'm surprised that with all of the skeletons in Phil Graham's closet that he was even involved in the campaign from the start.
His wife took down big bucks from Enron after Phil helped create the loopholes that allowed Enron to rape California and he also helped game the futures markets with a legislative act that contributed to the mortgage crisis. The fact that Mc Cain chose him and thought his participation would fly without scrutiny should be cause for concern. It should also make us all question his judgement. |

The CIA World Factbook based on 2007 #s places us 26th out of 126 countries with the highest debt as a percentage of GNP. In other words 100 out of 126 countries are doing better than us by this measure. Get informed! |

The question was, How do you propose to pay for this war? What will the revenue source be to pay China back? Where will you find (what social programs do you want to shut down) the 3 trillion plus interest to pay for the Iraq Mistake?

Sadly I have to accept: "I Don't Know" as a valid answer.

1 WALL STREET AGAINST REPUBLICANS IN 2008 Affluent industries get behind Dem candidates http://tinyurl.com/25zy8k WASHINGTON Democrats seeking the White House are raising significantly more money than Republicans this year from the industries that provide the most cash to presidential contenders — including Wall Street executives who traditionally have given to the GOP, a campaign-finance analysis shows. The major Democratic candidates have collected nearly $81 million from the employees and political action committees of the 20 employment sectors that contributed the most money during the first six months of the year, according to a USA TODAY analysis of data compiled by the non-profit Center for Responsive Politics. In contrast, Republicans raised $47 million. Overall, Democrats have raised more money than GOP candidates in 15 of the top 20 sectors, ranging from law firms to insurance companies. The industries where Republicans have an advantage include accounting and manufacturing, but not Wall Street. http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/electio... |

You know it is a shame that it took this long for the average American to know that phil's remarks on people losing their jobs or aren't making enough money as whiners are really how all Republicans feel about them and their problems at home.
Lost your job?...tough luck Can't feed your kids?...tough luck Sick?..tougn luck Lost your home?... tough luck It doesn't matter how much you suffer as long as the corperations make their money, it means the economy is sound and you are just a loser in their eyes. When will America wake up and see these crooks in the republican party selling away your country and life. |

What I am getting at is that Republicans don't understand what Americans go through every day. They are out of touch and have been from the start. They harp about how they are the party of values but they value nothing unless it can be sold. And no, I don't want goverment to take care of me, I was it to represent me for once instead of some suit in an office on the top floor of some building that doesn't care who the hell they have to step on to get their money. And what are you talking about? There is no free market. |

McCain has flip flopped on many issues. But he has not flip flopped on our bad trade agreements like NAFTA and WTO China.
If he gets in, the corporations will continue to ship jobs, wealth, technology and the backbone of the middle class economy overseas. McCain will not flip flop on his sycophant servitude to international corporations. Just look at his campaign staff who represented foreign companies that McCain helped. McCain went out of his way to kill a military contract award to Boeing worth up to nearly $100 billion. He also went out of his way to make sure the recompete would be stacked in EADs favor by forcing a change in the evaluation criteria. This interference in the regulation of contract awards for the sake of his political financial fund raisers is as crooked as NIXON and Taminy Hall. |
