Ridge would only get it based on where he has been - not what he has done. He is also one of McCain's best friends.

I read all of the articles on that site and they seem to conflict. Obviously some guys must have been jealous because Ridge got fast tracked due to his college degree. One story complains about his R&R in Australia, but another says he never got there because his appendix burst. Another guy claims to be his radio man when Ridge got his KIA, but the other article lists a different radio man when Ridge got credited with the kill and that radio operated died in Vietnam, so how can it be the same guy quoted as saying he's not sure it was over 30 years ago. Too many holes in the stories to make any kind of judgements and it's all on the same website.

It's like an amatuer version of the Swift Boat Veteran's for Truth. Seems like a red herring.
