It took several months for McCain to reject this endorsement from the lunatic religious kook John Hagee, WHOSE SUPPORT MCCAIN ACTIVELY SOUGHT while campaigning for his party’s nomination and pandering to evangelicals. In case you missed it, Hagee is the preacher who has described the Catholic Church as "The Great Whore of Babylon" and has said that Hitler was a "hunter" who God sent to "help" the Jews by forcing them to go to Israel (Watch and see if the mainstream media, who we're told have a liberal bias, cover the Hagee story for four to six weeks like they did with the former preacher at Obama's church. I doubt very much if they will.) John McCain laughed at a campaign event after he sang "Bomb Bomb Iran" to the tune of the Beach Boys's "Barbara Ann" [ http://www.youtube.com/watch... ] McCain, some call him McSAME and George Bush live up to the new nickname for their party: REPUGnicans! The economy going in to the toilet in large part because we’ve spent many more than $500,000,000,000 (FIVE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS) in Iraq (plus more in Afghanistan), Republican policies include waiting about four days before reacting to HURRICANE KATRINA, gasoline NEAR $4.00/GALLON, many thousands of Americans losing their jobs, TWO BOTCHED WARS, giving our troops tanks without proper armor, providing substandard treatment in VA hospitals, turning the U.S. in to the country that’s known around the world for TORTURING PRISONERS, then lying about it, doing NEARLY NOTHING ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, and about 900,000 HOMES IN FORECLOSURE RIGHT NOW.. Maybe that’s not it though. Gosh, if all those failures aren’t what did it... what else could it be? Maybe it was preaching to us about morals, then getting caught having sex in airport bathrooms, groping congressional pages, etc. I have never contributed to ANY campaign before, but this year, I’m contributing to the Democratic party, locally, statewide and nationally. ** No Copyright – OK to Repost Any or All **

McCain’s pandering to evangelicals by seeking Hagee’s endorsement should be the last straw for anyone who would even consider voting Republican. And he waited several months to reject that support. ********** Why are Republicans doing so badly this year? Well... GAS PRICES ARE SO HIGH largely because Bush has spent over $500,000,000,000 dollars (FIVE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS) in Iraq (and more in Afghanistan), which has destroyed the value of the dollar.(This accounts for about half of the increase in gasoline prices.) Republican policies include waiting about four days before reacting to HURRICANE KATRINA, gasoline NEAR $4.00/GALLON, many thousands of Americans losing their jobs, the ECONOMY GOING IN TO THE TOILET, TWO BOTCHED WARS, giving our troops tanks without proper armor, providing substandard treatment in VA hospitals, turning the U.S. in to the country that’s known around the world for TORTURING PRISONERS, then lying about it, doing NEARLY NOTHING ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, and about 900,000 HOMES IN FORECLOSURE RIGHT NOW. Unless you want McCain/McBush's 100+ years in Iraq and a president who seeks the support of a fire and brimstone lunatic like Hagee, you might want to be sure you know who your state and local Democratic candidates are and do whatever you can to support them. Maybe Republicans shouldn’t have preached to us about morals, then gotten caught having sex in airport bathrooms, groping congressional pages, etc. I have never contributed to ANY campaign before, but this year, I’m contributing to the Democratic party and other moderate-to-liberal causes, locally, statewide and nationally. www.democrats.org www.moveon.org www.barackobama.com www.nwf.org (National Wildlife Federation) If you INSIST on voting for a conservative, may I suggest you pick a REAL one who is less angry and maybe under 70 years old. Brasidias wrote: <quoted text>Dear child, Auschwitz was an instrument of the final solution. This was the grand plan to rid the earth of what Hitler deemed to be inferior races. At the same time he was culling humanity of the races he held in contempt, he was cultivating the breeding of what he deemed superior Arian races. This is nothing more and nothing less than eugenics. Ever hear of the American and the British Eugenics Society? Their literature feed Hitler while he was writing Mein Kampf in prison. The earliest advocates of eugenics were: Woodrow Wilson Margret Sanger Madison Grant Sidney and Beatrice Webb George Bernard Shaw Harold Laski H.G. Wells John Maynard Keynes Karl Pearson Havelock Ellis Julian and Aldous Huxley Eden Paul Liberals all. United States Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote of his decision in Bick vs. Bell: I…delivered an opinion upholding the constitutionality of a state law for sterilizing imbeciles the other day – and felt I was getting near the first principle of real reform.(Goldberg) What is the difference in this thinking and Hitler’s with regard to eugenics? You have selective posting. Here are more adherents to Eugenics (you will probably recognize a few names); In the early 1950s, Gordon Gray, a close friend and frequent golfing partner of Prescott Bush was appointed as the first director of the Psychological Strategy Board under Eisenhower. Later in 1958, Gray became National Security Advisor to Eisenhower. Gray’s son, C. Bowden served as George Bush's (Prescott's son) legal counsel throughout the evolving Iran-Contra scandal. In 1958, William Draper was appointed to chair a committee which was advising President Dwight Eisenhower on the use of military aid to other countries. The appointment was made possible by Prescott Bush and Gordon Gray, both whom were frequent golfing partners of Eisenhower. Dillon and Reed employed Draper during the 1930s. It was with Draper’s help that Prescott Bush was able to float the largest bond issue for Nazi Germany. Draper later served in post war Germany as the head of the economic unit in charge of dismantling the cartel system. Draper was a racist and major funder of the eugenic movement. Draper used his position as committee chairman to direct the focus of the committee away from military aid to the danger of over population in third world countries. His racist views were dismissed by the Eisenhower administration. Draper went on to fund the Population Crisis Committee with money from the Rockefellers and du Ponts. In the 1960s, Draper served as an advisor to LBJ. He was instrumental in getting the Johnson administration to use the overseas aid program to fund birth control in non-white countries. The Bush Rockefeller connection goes back to pre-WWI and Samuel Bush, president of Buckeye Casting. Samuel Bush was also director of several Ohio and Pennsylvania railroads. The railroads worked closely with the Ohio bred Standard Oil. Standard held a minority interest in Buckeye Castings. In turn, railroads transporting Rockefeller oil were required to purchase all of their couplings and related railroad equipment from Buckeye. George Bush, Prescott’s son, was a vocal supporter of Draper’s policies. In 1964, he campaigned in Texas against the Civil Rights Act. In 1969, as congressman, Bush arranged hearings on the dangers posed by the birth of too many black babies.

This belief system that makes the LEADERS of these right wing nuts, like Oral Roberts, Hagee, Falwell, that have a philosophy of fear and hate speach.

This dialogue on both sides places way to much emphasis on the Church.
We should not be electing our leaders based so heavily on their religious affiliation.
Our Constitution says (Article 6)
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
Should we not take some advice from our forefathers and not place so much weight upon a candidate's religion and look instead at the work they propose to do?
"Religion is a subject on which I have ever been most scrupulously reserved. I have considered it as a matter between every man and his Maker, in which no other, and far less the public, had a right to intermeddle." --Thomas Jefferson to Richard Rush, 1813.
"The clergy, by getting themselves established by law, and ingrafted into the machine of government, have been a very formidable engine against the civil and religious rights of man." --Thomas Jefferson to Jeremiah Moor, 1800.
We have given up to much of our time already in the election campaign to issues that should not enter into our political decisions and have in the process allowed religion to large a role in this election and by default in our Government.

Why NOT vote for Republicans? Well... they have: ...let the oil companies merge again and again, so that now there’s no real competition, which is part of why gasoline is now NEAR $4.00/GALLON. ...done NEARLY NOTHING ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION because they want big companies to have lots of cheap labor available. Now with less than six months before the elections, Bush’s INS has finally conducted a few raids.(ILLEGAL immigration should be stopped no matter what country people are coming in from.) ...allowed all kinds of businesses to merge with no checks and balances. Such a small amount of competition means businesses are in a position to pretty much CHARGE WHATEVER THEY WANT. We still have some anti-trust laws, but they are almost never enforced. ...consistently fought against requiring better gas mileage in vehicles, so people with huge cars use up to six times what small and medium sized cars do.(Leave some for the rest of us, would ya?) ...spent over FIVE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS in Iraq, and accomplished very little (except killing thousands and generally make a huge mess with no end in sight). Oh, and Bin Laden was IN AFGHANISTAN and is apparently STILL RUNNING AROUND LOOSE. ...busted up nearly all of the unions and now many Americans have no health insurance and little if any job security. ...appointed former drug industry representatives to be the “watchdogs” at the Food and Drug Administration, resulting in the approval of dangerous drugs and ones that had not been properly tested. ...tried (successfully in many cases) to TURN AMERICANS AGAINST EACH OTHER based on race, sex and religion. ...aligned themselves with far-right, wacko “religious” nuts and PREACHED to us about morals, and then have repeatedly been caught soliciting sex in public parks, airport restrooms, etc.(Stay out of other people’s private lives, and when YOU have sex, GET A ROOM like a normal person!) ...waited about four days before beginning to react to HURRICANE KATRINA. On the day Katrina came ashore, Bush was sharing CAKE with John McCain at a FUNDRAISING EVENT (see the picture at http://www.newsweek.com/id/133551 ) While people were still clinging to rooftops, do you remember Bush saying,“Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job”? ...FAILED to provide proper armor for tanks used by our service men and women in Iraq. ...set up a system for TORTURING SUSPECTED TERRORISTS, the LIED and said that we don’t torture. ...under-funded and mismanaged Veterans’ Administration hospitals, providing substandard treatment. ...deregulated the home loan industry to allow all kinds of “funny money” loans, contributing to the problem of 900,000 HOMES BEING IN FORECLOSURE RIGHT NOW. Had enough? I hope you’ll vote for ANYONE BESIDES McCAIN, and contribute whatever you can to stop the Republicans. www.democrats.org www.moveon.org www.barackobama.com

Was it, perhaps, meant to bring out in a broad sense of destiny foretold, without condemning a seer of seers, as we are/(are we) seeking principles in principalities or watching without making unnecessary waves?(How about saving ALL energy for constructive purpose and let them speak their peace as we try to understand a broader viewpoint in the now, for the now?)
