Underestimate Palin at your own risk, former rivals say

When she appeared for a candidate's forum in front of a room filled with unionized Alaskan electrical workers during her run for governor in early October 2006, Sarah Palin was woefully unprepared.

What's the difference between a soccer mom and Dan Qualye? Wouldn't it be great if they asked her to spell tomato at the debate?

I think the begining of the Newsday article really highlights Palin's true persona....she is not interested in workplace issues that affect working families and simply feels she needs to learn only the neo-facist buzzwords to address those issues.

Lets be honest here, neither her nor her running mate are serious about helping American workers. Thier only allegiance is to the corporate fat cats that are supporting their election campaign.

More specifically, what is the McCain/Palin platform toward the Employee Free Choice Act? They are against workers acting freely and exercising their rights to good wages and benefits. And because they feel that employers should have greater rights to exploit worker and prohibit workers from protecting themselves makes it clear they are nothing more that corporate stooges.

Palin did her own damage, there is very little to control where her knowledge is limited. Without the proper credentials, and given the fact that she has spent all of her life in Wasilla, far from Mainstream USA, she really should step down and save herself and John McSame the embarrassment of this debate. She's one of those who belong in the kitchen.

Why are they asking her what she would do if one of her daughters got pregnant? I do believe it would be the daughters decision wheather to keep it or abort. And who really cares. what i care about is what is she going to do, to help jump start the american economy. What is going to happen to the CEO's of these companys that caused this major problem for all americans. Stop telling us your just like us and tell us what your truly going to do for us as VP..

At least seems makes less gaffes than Biden. Biden doesn't know when FDR was president and when tv started to be used. But do you see this on the main stream media?

oh yes...the oh so important issue of when TV was invented has escaped the newscasts, give me a break. If you have watched any one of palins interviews its obvious she has no idea what she is doing and knows nothing about anything.

Hey WorkerBee ...

It's "neither SHE nor her running mate" not "her nor her running mate." Those who try to sound so superior often fall flats on their asses!

Let's have this conversation again Friday. This is the same media that relentlessly attacked Palin for four days between her getting selected, and her speech at the RNC. They will again be wowed by the way she picks that hair-pluged windbag Biden apart on Thursday.
Your two candidates represent the first and third most liberal Senators in the land. More liberal than the only Socialist in the Senate who came in at number 4. Is that what you want? Is it a full-out attack on capitalism that you support? Do you realize that the top 1% of tax payers in the nation already pay 28.8% of the taxes? How much more do you consider a 'fair' penalty for their hard work and good fortune?
Again, let's talk again on Friday.

So right? It is the fact that Bush ran as a Republican, and then governed as a liberal Democrat that put us in this bad place. While we agree Bush is an idiot, it is because he increased the size of the government by 40% that's ruining us. How large a percent will Obama increase the government?
Well, it worked so well for Bush, I'm sure it'll work equally well for Obama.
(and the elitist Democrats behind you in line have IQ's that don't equal room temperature, and haven't worked their entire lives!)

Her biggest gaffe is that she is trying to present herself as a folksy, "ordinary" person -- hockey mom, Joe Six-Pack -- who will fight for the Little Man. Didn't George W do the same thing? And look where that got us. Will Rogers must be spinning in his grave.
Of course not

I hope you realize that a large number of conservatives are disgusted by the selection of Palin.
