The democrats proclaimed the need for change in Washington. Their inexperienced choice ends up choosing one of Washington's most established to be his VP. McCain promises change and brings in those not committed to or compromised by to the Washington establishment ... and with a record of going after all of those that corrupt, even those in her own party! Sounds refreshing to me ... along with the fact that she is not a lawyer! That's change I can accept!

A Great Choice?! No wonder Heather Wilson was defeated in the Primaries. There are many more people in the Republican Party much, much more qualified to be a heartbeat away from being Commander-in-Chief. I believe that Palin was chosen solely to try to wrest some of the Hillary supporters but she is far too far Right Wing.

As a grandpa, my first reaction when I saw Sen. McCain & Gov. Palin on the stage together was: WOW This is the first Grandfather/Grandaughter ticket EVER. Talk about breaking a glass ceiling. Also, this individual has No foreign affairs experience, so is McCain insulting our intelligence by stating that she is ready to be our Commander-in-Chief? Finally, McCain's real short list was Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton & Sarah Palin. All of course, according to McCain are ready to be commander-in chief.(Albuquerque, NM)

At least try to be original in your posting! We all enjoy reading the ridiculous statements of posters on these forums ... but to re-read them on different forums/topics does get boring ... and you are boring!

Does anyone else have some fear that this inexperienced person with a degree in journalism and job experience as a sports broadcaster, commercial fisherman, snowmobile seller, mayor of a small Alaska town,2 year Governor will have to be President if McCain dies or becomes unable to act? A lot of her ideas are also scary. This woman should not be VP.

You forgot to mention Palin's political career consists of being Mayor of a town of 600 & Governor of Alaska who's total population is just a tad higher than Albuquerque's. Her foreign policy experience is zero.(McCain hammers Obama for not having any foreign policy experience.) In her short tenure as governor she is under investigation for an ethics violation & abuse of power. If found guilty she could be impeached. McCain's crowd failed to do their homework.

I did love Palin's speach (I'm a Democrat voting for Obama) because McCain, eye's downcast looked like he wished the floor would swallow him as Palin ranted her PRESIDENCY acceptance speach! Somebody failed to tell her she's a VP running mate.

And ... your illustrious experience that qualifies you to make judgments/decisions on behalf of the rest of us comes from ...? You are deciding who should and should not run or be elected to a political office? Why not let the voters decide? I thought liberals were open-minded and conservatives were the ...? Sounds like liberals are back to "1984" with mind-control indoctrination becoming a strong suit for demo'n'crats!

The Race Is ON. Palin is just what we need, she is probably the most down to earth politician that we have had in a long time. McCain has picked the BEST that he had to chose from. She is for all the things this country was established on. they get my vote.

Not as much as a Presidential candidate that has no executive leadership, only legislative experience! It's easy to critique and come to consensus in a committee/group/legislative body gathering ... it is much different when you are the one (i.e., CEO) that must make the final decision and take the "heat". So, which one has more CEO experience, the "inexperienced Republican VP candidate, or the Republican & Democratic President AND Democratic VP candidate? Try to be at least a little objective in answering this question!

I think you should be very happy with such a great candidate who has strong family values. To bad her daughter didn't get these same values. If a democrat had a daughter that was unwed and pregnant, Rush and Sean Hannity would be all over it. But because it is one of their own, it is not up for discussion. Hey I could care less who your party picks to be your candidate for VP. I still think Sarah looks like that model who is selling eye glasses.

Would you like to address any one of much democrats in similar, but not identical situations? Let's start out with the Kennedy family and end up most recently with John Edwards just to keep it within most readers lifetime (don't forget Clinton in between)! Sarah Palin's daughter will marry the biological father and not have an abortion! Do you really want to pursue this subject?

I just don't understand why Bush and Cheney were left out of the convention. They have overseen the govt. for the past 8 years and they have made great accomplishments. Add in the Congress for 5 of the 8 years as well as the supreme court, things are going great. Why does McCain feel we need change? Just stay the course.

That's a laugh. What a resume!.. legislating over small populations in Alaska for a short period. What's next, are you going to praise her for something like presiding over a Neighborhood Book Club or managing a Burger King. Lets make her the pope while we’re at it.
