This should be good, Senator Inhofe is a hero of the anti-alarmism movement.

I like Inhofe on this, the voice of reason. We have real dangerous problems like Fukushima that need a Manhattan project sized global response. Giving Al Gore all our money in carbon credits because he lies is bullshit.

Why are you scared of coal? The USA is the Middle East of coal. We need to use as much as possible to be energy independent.

The real number is now much lower.

America could be a net crude exporter and use gasoline from coal exclusively. Giving America a trade surplus for the first time since Ford was president.

If you really cared you would be for getting every first generation nuclear plant on Earth off line. Glassifation all nuclear waste possible. Work toward 4th generation pebble bed nuclear power electrical generation as well as Thorium nuclear technologies.

The answers are all around us as long as we don't play politics and put people first.

I'll let NASA Chief Scientist Dr. James Hansen answer that. Two years ago he wrote a good op-ed on coal for The Observer (a London newspaper).

So a president who gives taxpayer money to his crony corporate friends in the green energy field are sincere but a Senator who is skeptical of climate change mitigation is a prostitute, that's the way you think? Get over Solyndra. The solar panel industry is an outgrowth of the defense department; we taxpayers have been funding satellite panels for about fifty years, and the research has been intense and expensive. For a few years I had a close-up view of that. Industry doesn't innovate much on its own--the big investments in solar R&D were all on the defense dime, and our leaders had the poor judgment to think that doing the same thing in public view would be just fine. As they say, you should never watch sausage being made.

Get government our of the energy markets. If you like $700 toilet seats and $500 hammers, you are going to love your electricity bills.

You might not enjoy watching the manufacture of sausage but knowledge has a quality more valuable than ignorance.

$700 toilet seats are what you get when you throw trillions at the military, but nothing else in government comes close to that level of abuse.

Computers, the Internet, cell phones, wi-fi, jetliners, solar power; they and much more were developed for the military, and their civilian uses followed at a respectful distance.
