Mexican marijuana cartels sully US forests, parks

National forests and parks - long popular with Mexican marijuana-growing cartels - have become home to some of the most polluted pockets of wilderness in America because of the toxic chemicals needed to eke ...

This must pose a real dilemma for the tree huggers since most of them smoke loco-weed. Maybe they can organize weeding parties.

You won't ever stop it, only divert it.

Legalize it & tax it. Period. That will help more than "fighting against it".

Time to tax and regulate dope like booze.

Take the crime out of it and maybe the hippies won't worship it anymore.

And other parts of society will profit from the proceeds other than the criminals. Billions in government funds will also be saved on the criminal justice end of it.

Why hasn't there been a legalize it proposition yet?

I don't smoke it, don't care for it, but I'd vote for it.

I'd be more concerned about getting Yourself legal.

As far as the cannabis growing in OUR parks, it's being allowed to happen.

Raids are nothing but a smoke-screen to show Tax-Payers that a few token dollars might be used for enforcement/eradication, but in fact the law is involved with this as well.

Legalize the plant, smash the Cartel, and the Govt. profiteers involved!

Both are very valid points, and should seriously be considered; especially since the clean-up process is going to be so exorbitant.

Law enforcement will never, ever be able to put a
stop to drug use and sales. Never. Same with Prostitution. Enact all the laws you want, but
people are going to continue to pay to get high or laid. One thing has remained a constant over the years, and that that all the assets in money,
personnel and equipment will not stop it.
Legalize drugs. I don't use them, but alot do.
Legalize it, tax it, regulate it and initiate some kind of quality control monitoring. This
WILL put an end to these ruthless drug cartels.
If its decriminalzed and made legally available to
adults, the drug cartels will simply NO LONGER exist.
All the damage that illegal aliens are doing to our deserts, ecosystems, forests, and the MILLIONS of tons of BIO HAZARD they leave discarded in the desert from soiled underwear, diapers, prescription drugs and syringes, the
Tree Huggers, Environmentalists and the Sierra Club for one have been completely mute about this.
One would think that they'd be the first to be up in arms about this destruction to OUR side of the border caused by illegals crossing illegaly into the
United States. Yet, not a peep. Not even a faint whisper about it.
Legalize drugs AND prostitution. As I said,
make it legal, tax it and monitor it. People
wil ALWAYS find a way to do what they want to do.
All the laws and enforcement actions relative to
dope/weed/meth/narcotics hasn't done ONE bit of
good and hasn't IN THE SLIGHTEST put even a dent in in Mexico's cartels' export of it to the U.S.- and all the enforcement actions are only causing these cartels to use more sophisticated clanestine
means to get it here. Let Mexico's cartel poison
other countries for a change instead of here. Adding
to their incentive to continually export dope here is
the fact that the United States does -- indeed -- have a voracious appetite for drugs. The appitite
will only get worse. Legalizing it will really
render the cartels powerless. Why go through all these
elaborate, expensive, clandestine schemes to get their drugs here, when we could just buy it here for less than street value, and the added taxes generated by it would go for cleaning up the destruction the illegals have left here over the years. Whats so ironic is considering all the destruction they've rained upon OUR landscape, forests and deserts, they complain that a border wall will interrupt the migratory path of some kind of Butterfly. Oh, puh-lllleze, Mexico, do you ever stop whining like a hysterical little girl who's just seen a huge spider?

All this freakin drug activity is making me sick. Send the illegals back, and do away with the sick perverts dealing yo the younger generations who are to young to realize the harm they're getting their selves into. Clean up Hanover should be a good place to start. It's not even safe to walk the streets anymore, you're either walking by the Mexican villages which house probably 20 to a dwelling or you have the ones at Wirt Part terrorizing the younger ones and following them on bikes and skateboards, PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT!

Bootleg alcohol, vintage, US Prohibition.
Bootleg pharmacies?...if by chance You mean meth-labs, that's a thing of the 1990's.

Meth predominantley comes from one source in the Americas.

We hope you aren't saying that because we already have a crime problem, we're supposed to import a huge addition to it.

You aren't saying that, right?

I am a tree-hugger, and I'm sad to say you're mostly right.

But not entirely!

I've been 100% upfront about the disastrou ecological implications of mass immigration into California for decades. The open-borders lobby HATES being confronted with that, because they know very well they have no excuse.

Rather than merely deporting illegals, the legal system should have them spend a long time cleaning up the incredible mess they make sneaking across the border, AND tearing the hell out of our forests! With our current deportation policy, the illegals just laugh in our faces and sneak right back in.

As for the Sierra Club, here's an inside look at its cowardly cooption by the open-borders lobby: http://www.susps.org/
