all prohibition does is create crime.

stop prohibition, and all the profit and crime goes away.

deal with it as a health issue, not a crime issue.

Legalize it already... How dumb are our laws?

Can you imagine how many corn, bean, etc. fields would be transferred to pot production if it were legalized?

I think a better way of handling it would be to allow all the poor countries in the world to cultivate it and import it here. We wouldn't grow it here to maintain our food production, but we could tax the crap out of it when it comes here (like liquor taxes, import taxes, etc.) and the poor countries would become wealthy to the level of OPEC! They get our food and we get their dope and the cartels are legitimized. There's wins all over the place with this idea.

We won't even buy Afghan opium for our pharmaceutical companies, what makes you think we'll do anything else that makes sense?

If you leave food on the counter all the time, do you blame the cockroaches for coming by for a feast?

Drug laws are to criminals as leaving the food on the counter is to cockroaches.

Stupid illegals? Maybe. Stupid you? Definitely.

The US spends billions on the anti drug war. Why not spend some of those billions buying up the Afghan opium from the farmers and burning it. Just get it off the market.

Yeah, that opium is WAY better off on the black market, funding the Taliban. What I'm suggesting will increase national security. It will help Afghanistan rebuild an economy, a LEGITIMATE economy. And it will take most of the illicit opiates off the streets.

Hey thats a good idea. Lace pot with something deadly to kill off all those pothead hippies.

Wow, and all we were trying to do was use the "War on Drugs" to undermine your rights and create a Police state.

We should do the same for tobacco.
