Ah ha!! I see they have changed the picture in this article from just showing a popular black pastor and bishop...to simply showing a picture of a cross, smart thinking!!!

I'm glad someone is keeping these "preachers" accountable, most of them are crooks, not all,but most.

I think the government needs to get out of the church and practice what it preaches "seperation of church and state"

I have personally ministered at some of these churches or ministries and know several of the ministers named here. They are super good men and women of God and I believe most of them have a true "fear of the Lord" inside of them and would not be the type of person to "Fleece the Flock". The sad thing is just as it was in Jesus day here on earth we still have a few "Judus' " around of whome satan has entered into.

Long over due. These people have been "preying" too long. Take a tour of the Vatican and you can see it in a historical and international basis. It's the same pomp and circumstance, displayed down through the ages. Like some of those huge churchs and centers that have been built around Lexington and Columbia. Some people turned relgion into a business centuries ago, today they do it with TV shows, CDs and DVDs. It's just pure, good old fashioned, human greed, preying on those naive enough to try to buy themselves a place in the hereafter. In Dante's Inferno, there were 9 circles, the 4th was for these type of people.

Every one is caring on about the church finances, why they are not cracking down on title loan companies who charge so much for a loan, that it takes the person 2 years to pay back a $1000 loan. That's what they need to look more into.

can you buy a million dollar home?????????? |

amen amen amen. to be exact........Darrell Jackson!!!!!!!!!!I forgot , it is to further the ministry!!!!!whatever happened to give free and receive free!!!come taste life waters free!!!! |

If you don't like how they spend their money , don't give them any. Unlike the goverment who takes our money and spends it as they see fit. They have nice houses and drive nice cars and have expensive clothes and fly in private jets yet no one wants to look into this in more detail. I have a choice to give to these ministries but not to the government.

we got locals tryna act like those Tv Ministers, talking about sow seeds and all people is doing is giving them their money on dirty ground, payibng their bills, they driving a big fancy expensixe car while you're walking, catching RIDE OR on the city bus, you living from pillow to post and they living large, they eating good out at the finest restaurant and you hoping the Gov. will give you some food stamps...people need to think...God said to tithe and give and offering..he didnt say nothnhg about sow no seed..

I am curious how does our government have the audacity to investigate their finances? I would LOVE to investigate EACH person that holds any SEAT in the SENATE and CONGRESS and ANY position in GOVERNMENT!! For goodness sake are we so blind that we do not see all the careless spending and unfair fundraising going on with our politicians. Look at the military spending. Then the Govt. wants to investigate these people. They truly need to be investigated first by us, then they could have a right to investigate others! But we all know that would never happen.

"DCS" and "Amy S" hit the nail on the head, dead center! I would be the first to say that there MAY be some descrepencies in the TV ministries, but there is absolutly NO DOUBT about the crooked, illegal, immoral, etc. activities in politics.

What a low blow!! Just because someone wants to see their ministry flourish does not mean that they are a crook, or whatever it is that you are accusing Pastor Jackson of. No, I am not a member of his church. However, I worked with him for several years, and he has always appeared to me a genuinely good person.
Unless you know him personally, you have no place to judge! Such a hater...And then you have the nerve to start off with ŽamenŽ I will pray for you!!

I remember when "The Right Reverend" Leroy Jenkins was in Columbia and people ran him out of town for scamming people.

Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. |

It's about time. Amen!

First of all, the gov. does have a right and a responsibility to check out these ministries because of their tax exempt status. Second, the people who lead these ministries do other things like write books to help those who are concerned about spiritual things and if they happen to make a nice profit, then they are entitled to spend their money on whatever they choose. We are all held accountable for what we are given by God. Third, I too think that our gov. should be held accountable for the way they spend the money they take in the form of taxation. They are accountable to God also!

Why would worry about the Men of God when you are not doing what is right yourself or the Govenment. The word of God said" ABOVE ALL I WISH YOU WOULD PROSPER AND BE IN GOOD HEALTH EVEN AS YOU SOUL PROSPER". So these Ministers have acheived want God want them to have. Don't hate believe what the word says. Sen. Grassley need to worry about all the Sub-Committee that give money for TEA POTS and such nonsense.

The end times are approaching.Luke 21:12 says "BUT BEFORE ALL THESE, THEY SHALL LAY THEIR HANDS ON YOU, AND PRESECUTE YOU, DELIVERING YOU UP TO THE SYNAGOGUES, AND INTO PRISONS, BEING BROUGHT BEFORE KINGS AND RULERS FOR MY MY(JESUS)NAME'S SAKE.
