From above, "Students from poor families still face a disadvantage in the application process because elite schools focus heavily on SAT scores despite the strong correlation between test scores and income."

How should the admissions criteria be changed? Completely ignore academic ability or whether the applicant even finished high school? The SAT scores aren't the only criteria and the elite schools aren't the only schools where a good education can be had.

Under the current USA educational system I do not think admission criteria needs to be fully changed.

Sure you do not need to go to an elite school to get a quality education, BUTT you can also get a a great college education from schools that do not even look at SAT or ACT scores as well.
