Everybody:
We thank everyone who came out to this event to let Blanche Lincoln know that we do not want “public option,” also known as government-controlled health care. We were delighted with the turnout and the new faces! Tea partiers and patriots are the best! Representatives from several grass roots group were able to meet with her staff and let them know that Blanche had better not vote yes for the cloture and then tell us she voted no for the bill. We will not be fooled by this tactic. A vote for cloture is in effect a vote for the bill. We had representatives from Washington, Madison, Sebastian, Carroll, and Benton counties, at least. We estimate that we outnumbered the moveon.org people by at least 5 to 1. It was amusing to watch their small group stand there with their pre-printed signs while we on the sidewalk crowded them out. Blanche’s office staff was able to witness firsthand our respectful and happy crowd compared to their small, angry and rude group. Some of the moveon.org people came over to start shouting matches with some of our folks. They were deliberately intimidating, shouting and even pushing one woman on our side. Don’t let them intimidate you because the facts are on our side and we will prevail if we don’t give up. Our Constitution is too precious to be ignored and forgotten now! Please keep up the pressure and call her offices as we have heard that she is considering voting for cloture on this and the vote may be as early as tomorrow. We also heard that she was called in for a special meeting with Obama at the White House. This issue is serious.
