The health insurance industry should not be exempt from anti-trust law. Oligopoly is oligopoly, and collusion is collusion, and the customer suffers. The health insurance companies are making big money, and so are their executives, at the expense of American people whose insurance is not adequate. Some folks are more interested in protecting the profits and pay of the insurance company officials, than in protecting the health of other Americans. Mostly the Republicans who are getting so much campaign money from them. they are trying to buy some Democrats too. But in many cases, they are more successful in mostly scaring the Democrats, with the threat of contributing to their opponents, in swing-states, and districts, and especially in the normally red states and districts, where Democrats are in office, but not in safe seats. A majority of the public still wants a public option, and opposes monopoly and oligopoly control of health insurance, which is the current situation in many states.
