Obama wasn't giving a timeline to the Taliban, he was giving it to the Afghan government. One of the objectives is to make the Afghan military strong enough to fight the Taliban without us, and you can put a timeline on that objective. Another objective is for the Afghan government to become stronger and to stop corruption, and you can put a timeline on that objective. Also, we're not going to just up and leave in July of 2011, that is when we will START to draw down.

I assume that out of context clip was about Iraq. Throughout the campaign Obama constantly said Iraq would be 'wind down combat troops' and that Afghanistan would be escalated. Sad damn fact but beat hell out of Old Keating 5 McCain's kill 'em all forever strategy...or whatever his 'plan' was.
