I will deal with your ignorance concering Israel. The Rest of this garbage doesn't require any reply.
Those lands that were captured from Egypt, Jordan, and Syria by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day Wa are governed under Israeli civil law but are considered to be under military occupation by the international community. The United Nations and...
A) Palestine is only the description given to a geographical area; which has not been a nation since Israel was conquered by Rome in 70 A.D.

B) The Turks had this area from 1517 to 1917, and made it a wasteland, causing the peasants to flee... wandering all over the Middle East seeking subsistence.

C) Even after the Roman defeat in 70 A.D. the Jews (with their Zionist dream) never vacated the Holy Land.

D) The area known as Palestine covered areas both East and West of the Jordan; and the Arabic-speaking people there thought of themselves as Syrians, Turks, or simply "Arabs"... but never as "Palestinians".

E) The Arabs did not begin to think in terms of "nationalism" until early in the 1900's. Even T.E. Lawrence was not able to inject them with "nationalism" as late as World War I.

F) Islamic religious prejudice often resulted in anti-Jewish violence, throughout the Middle East, even before Israel became a state in 1948.

G) The British later described these religious persecutions as being "Arab Nationalism", so as to justify limiting Jewish immigration from Europe.

H) The British illegally "gave" Mandate lands (specifically allocated for a Jewish national home) to the Arabs instead.

I) The Arab peasants had been rendered landless by their own Arab landlords, natural disasters, excessive taxes, and Arab money lenders.

J) In 1923 Britain illegally gave Abdulah 77 percent of Palestine (the whole "East Bank") to protect rights to Arab oil, and the Suez canal, etc. for purposes of the British Empire. This created Transjordan; which became Jordan in 1946.

K) Thus, Jordan is the "independent Palestinian state" in the area; and was carved out of what was to become Israel.

L) In 1947 the UN further carved up the 23 percent west of the Jordan, into Israel, another Palestinian state (which the Arabs rejected) and an internationalized Jerusalem.

M) The Jews accepted the UN proposal; the Arabs did not.

N) The UN has changed the definition of "Refugee" for the Arabs only; who therefore need only be in the land two years to qualify.

O) The homelands to which many Arabs fled in 1948 and 1967 include lands from which many of them had recently come.

P) It is their own Arab-Muslim leaders who are preventing Arab refugees in Israel from "returning home". They are sacrificing Arab refugees to put pressure on the UN and Israel for another "Palestinian state".

Q) Of all the adjacent Arab states, only Jordan would grant citizenship to Arabs fleeing Israel. All other Arab states refused to grant Arabs citizenship.

R) Since the state of Israel (even including the "West Bank" and "Gaza strip") would total only 23 percent of Palestine (as defined by the League of nations in granting the British Mandate) how can Arabs be said to have been excluded from a Palestinian homeland?

Of course, the politicians ignored everything.
No. Chapter 11 is specificially designed to allow a company an orderly reorganization of its debts so that it can go forward as a viable company in the future. Most of the domestic airlines were in Chapter 11.

OUR COUNTRY NEEDS TO LET FAILING COMPANIES FAIL. Its what capitalism is all about.

However, I backed the TARP bailout (as did Bush, Obama, then Secretary Paulson) in late 2008 because widespread failures of banks, financial institutions, and so on would have definitely resulted in a worldwide financial catastrophe, even another depression.

I know we all have our opinions.
I have always supported Israel.
Asked yourself, who is on the most wanted Israeli-terrorist list?
Why did Israel agree and signed a peace treaty with Pakistan to return each one's prisoners? When agreed upon by both countries, Israel returned 100 Pakistani solders alive and well and Pakistan returned two dead Israeli soldiers to Israel.
Israel enforced their own citizens out of the Gaza Strip for the Pakistani to live on and use free.
Israel was hit by over 6000 mortar attacks by Pakistan in which the media refused to report.
{Just over two weeks ago, the Israeli Parliament counted the cost and decided they were ready to deal with the over 6000 rockets and mortar shells fired into Southern Israel since their withdrawal from Gaza in 2005. Hundreds of those rockets were fired during a so-called “cease fire” over the past six months. Apparently, the Hamas version of a cease-fire means Israel agrees to restrain from returning fire while Hamas reloads.
It is absurd for the international community to expect anything less than Israel’s all out response to the Hamas attacks on its citizens. No country; not the United States, Canada, Mexico, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, or Egypt would allow constant rocket attacks without a full scale response. Not one of the member nations of the UN that voted to sanction Israel and call for an immediate cease fire would, for one day, suffer the attacks Israel has suffered without full scale retaliation. In fact, in my view, Israel has exercised tremendous restraint. Thanks to years of U.S. military support, Israel is a formidable military power in the region. In response to criticism of Israel’s supposed over reaction to the rocket attacks from Hamas, Likud Party member and former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News that if Israel wasn’t concerned about the welfare of the Palestinian population they would simply carpet bomb Gaza. The fact that Israel has chosen to put members of their military in harms way by a ground invasion is a sign of Israel’s restraint.}
Like Fox news which is being attacked and lied about so is Israel.
Agreed. Israel is surrounded and outmanned by enemies, some of whom publicly (Iran, Hamas, etc) call for its destruction.

Hamas lobbed hundreds of rockets at Israel. Israel's enemies specifically target civilians. Israel does not.

Palestinian groups have rejected numerous peace offers.

Israel has a right and a duty to defend itself.

We can't afford to provide health care coverage nor improve the VA's System for our Veterans, but we have the money to build and manage a missile site in poland? If a Missile Site is so desired in Eastern Europe, why aren't the European Union on Board with the Idea, and or paying the tab for the construction and management of the facility? It's known that the Europeans Allies never supported any expansion of American Military Might in Europe. What was Bush trying to do, how willing are we to allow Mexico to Build a missile plant downtown Dallas?
So why don't you go ahead and tell me the cost of that program, relative to the cost of the other programs.

Regardless, my POINT was that we got NOTHING in exchange from Russia for abandoning this. Obama and his team are apologists for America -- they got NOTHING. No Russian cooperation on Iran. NOTHING.

One more thing. The news today reported an employee who worked for Home Depot was fired for wearing a button which read: "In GOD We Trust."
Just weeks ago, over 5000 muslims from all over the world were allowed to pray on the steps of D.C.
Yesterday, the news was about 6 black muslims who made threats, intimidated the passengers of a plane, asked for extentions to seat belts even though none of them were obesed, etc. were rewarded a lawsuit.
This is similiar to the two border patrol agents trying to protect the citizens of America were thrown into prison and the illegal alien drug smuggler was given hundreds of thousands of dollars in his lawsuit against these agents.
People need to wake up and really see what the gov. is doing to its law biding and tax paying americans.
Now see what is happening on the American-Mexican border. They tried to keep it quiet but so much crime and killings has spilled over to American, they are unable to.
AMERICAN CITIZENS RIGHTS ARE TAKEN AWAY IN AMERICA WHILE ANYONE CAN COME FROM ANY COUNTRY AND THEIR RIGHTS ARE PROTECTED IN AMERICA.
Go over to any of these countries and utilized your rights and see what happens.....
We are in agreement.

Well if you would read the posts on the forum then you would see plenty of proof, or try maybe to research a little. Instead you would rather fail. Attack, twist, and change the subject just like a typical Liberal instead huh?

Not very much hench:
The growing numbers of reports and other literary pieces by contemporary sociologists, economists, and other experts all herald tidings of great change in virtually all aspects of society: in population demographics, international business and marketing, as well as the domestic job market and American social environment. This introduces the final outlook of this paper at the discrepancy between integration and assimilation: Does integration to tomorrow's society truly require assimilated individuals? Does the stability of 21st century America call for homogeneity in all its members?
When all our so called forefathers came to America they had a tendency of migrating to the same towns and cities.( Chinatown, Little Italy so on and so forth) Once there, they also ended up living in the same ethnic neighborhoods.
This was done because of language barriers and of course, in numbers there is safety. Many new immigrants weren't always welcomed with open arms. immigrants looked different, dressed different, talked different and in some cases even ate certain ethnic foods that could only be obtained in certain neighborhoods. At this point of time, assimilation with other ethnic groups was unthinkable.
Even the churches that were built during the late 1800's or early 1900's leaned toward a certain ethnic group.
In America, most of the second and third generations of our early immigrants marry through their heart and not through heritage. This voluntary assimilation of all the various ethnic groups is good for any country's future. In the United States it is making an entire new ethnic group, which are called "Americans." This makes for a better physical as well as a better mental stability among its people. There is one down side to this though and that is, as the older generation fades away some of our past heritages and cultures are being lost forever. It is sad because knowing who we were and where we came from is just as important as to where we are headed.
No arguement yet.
Carry on

I used to agree with your position, and I had some sympathy for the displaced Palestinians and Israel's continued expansion into the occupied territories.
Now I don't care very much though. What changed was when I lived and worked in NYC, on 9/11/2001, and on 9/12/2001, there were widespread celebrations by the Palestinians, and people were handing out candy in celebration.
Now, I say screw them. For all of Israel's faults, they will not kill us for not following their beliefs. Most of the Palestians would cheer America's destruction.
The Palestinians are not displaced. "Since the state of Israel (even including the "West Bank" and "Gaza strip") would total only 23 percent of Palestine (as defined by the League of Nations in granting the British Mandate) how can Arabs be said to have been excluded from a Palestinian homeland?"

The Palestinians have been pawns for a very long time. The other Arabs use them for their efforts to destroy Israel. Nasty Antisemitism is still floating around Europe and other parts of the world and the UN is polluted with it.

Devin bringing up the UN isn't exactly comforting with how messed up the UN is. Heck, the UN Commission on Human Rights put Sudan on the commission WHILE Sudan was doing ethnic cleansing in Darfur!

As a group, the Palestinians are a mess. Corruption and squandering of resources are the modus operandi. Europe, the US, etc. have sent billions to them and they sit and buy weapons and squander the rest.

Regardless, my POINT was that we got NOTHING in exchange from Russia for abandoning this. Obama and his team are apologists for America -- they got NOTHING. No Russian cooperation on Iran. NOTHING.
We got Russia to sign on board with the Uranium enrichment deal for Iran instead of working DIRECTLY with Iran, against our wishes AND best interest to enrich their Uranium and even possibly supply a warhead. And there is a good chance that this will influence ALL 5 of the permanent members of the U.N Security Council including China, who was also willing to deal directly with Iran. It may also influence whether or not Russia and China would join us in sanctions should Iran refuse the deal, which they had previously shunned. How exactly is that "nothing"?

The entire "missile defense system" was nothing more than a aggression to Russia and China in the first place - saying that if they were going to be "friends and business partners" with Iran then we would have no choice but to put missiles in their back yard to gaurd against a "projected" Iranian aggression (i.e. "we need a place to put our missile's so that we can shoot any future Iranian Nuclear missiles out of the sky before they can get to American. Hmmmm, where can we put these missiles... thinking, thinking, Oh, I know, we can put them right here in an old USSR territory, since they're not using it anymore). The Russians & Chinese perceived this to be nothing more than a veiled attempt to get American Missilies in close firing range of their OWN countries. We were trying to get bees with vinegar.

And really, I don't even know why I bother with this since you have NO real desire to actaully discuss world events and International strategy, but anyway.
