A global warming denier? OMG! He should be locked up. Why everyone knows that Professor Gore closed that debate some time ago. I get a kick out of the Democrats being for "Main Street" and the Republicans being for "Wall Street". Yet Obama's healtscam bill is and will continue to decimate "Main Street" while he collects big time from the Wall Street firms he bailed out. He is surrounded by the likes of Timmy the tax cheat. Sestak didn't think Obama's healthscam went far enough. The factoids that are spouted by the Democrats and perpetuated by the media continue to find fertile soil in the minds of the Democrat base of moochers.

Once again the YDR gets it WRONG. What you call extremistis exactly what PA and the country needs. A return to contitutional values. The Dems have controlled Congress for 4 years. So no it's not two years. Anyone with any sense knows that while O'Bama is in the White House, the TeaParty/Republicans aren't going to get what needs to be repealed Obamacare repealed. It'll take 2012 and the removal of O'Bama by the American people. What we really need is a free market businessman in the White House. So if Donald Trump decides to run, he's got my vote hands down.

All of these "looney-left" type comments are absurd. Toomey is an extreme right candidate, and there's no arguing otherwise. Sestak is the moderate candidate in this race. There are plenty of other arguments you can make as to why one might vote for Toomey but that's just absurd.

Well, I certainly succeeded in getting the "natives" responding. No one has mentioned that they knew about Ev's or Gino's. Argento, help me out. Nevertheless, everyone seems to miss my point that in a year ...or even 18 months....after the Republicans have taken Congress "back" the country will still be mired in gridlock. They'll blame Obama for not working with them even though they voted "no" on every piece of legislation that he wanted. Sort of like everything must be the Republican way or its the wrong way. We'll see that "Gov" Corbett has had to raise taxes, and keep property taxes despite a Republican House and Senate because he "had no choice." Yes, it will be the same blame the Democrats for every problem and the Republicans will take no responsibility for their mistakes and/or mismanagement. Gary, Glenn, Rush and Sean will continue to run their mouths (well when Gary is not stuffing his with food)about how rotten every thing is and that someone other than conservatives must be to blame. Me, I'll still be thinking about better times at Gino's, Ev's or "the Dell" when a "conservative" was a member of a group that met at Indian Steps and a "liberal" was someone who listen to jazz and wore a beret.

Harold- you are a bitter, bitter old geezer. I read your postings and letters and I actually feel pity for someone who obviously can't take any joy in life, who looks to the past, and who can't do anything more than wallow in self-pity. I blame the Democrats for overreaching and trying to force a poorly thought out political and economic agenda on us for the past few years. I blame Republicans for not originally sticking to their fiscally conservative roots and trying to get along with the Democrats by agreeing with them to spend, spend, and spend. I give kudos, however, to the Republicans AND Democrats who realize that the tripling of the national debt over the past two years is a bad thing. That raising taxes in a down economy is a bad thing. That "fundamentally changing America" to a more European form of government is a bad thing. Hurray that people are FINALLY getting involved and thinking for themselves. Hurray for the voters that want to cut spending and are willing to debate hard decisions (reducing / eliminating Social Security, Medicare, and other entitlements). We will be watching Corbett and the legislature. Hopefully, if we can clean house a bit now- someone will get the message. Otherwise- we can promote the politician to Citizen voter and put someone else in his/her place.

Gasoline prices haven't gotten much attention amid all the other bad economic news for Democrats heading into a final week of campaigning, but the price per gallon has climbed nearly 15 cents since Labor Day - a surprising jump, given that prices usually plummet before an election. The cost of a gallon of gas has eclipsed the $3 mark in several parts of the country and clocks in nationally at $2.82, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). That's up from $2.68 on Sept. 6, and overall about $1 higher than the week of Jan. 26, 2009, when President Obama took office and the per-gallon price was $1.81. If you think this is expensive, wait till we get Cap and Trade!

Well, first of all apparently you sit on your sense of humor and there is ample "sit" since you fail to understand satire or my intention. You are not from York, "Bro" or you would understand even more. I am not a "geezer" nor do I "wallow in self pity." Actually, I do not mind spending time with the guy I see in the mirror. My wife does too and she is not a geezette. So let's see....I think that Toomey is a liar, a fraud, and a could not casre less about the average working guy. I think Corbett has spent his time rightly going after criminals, but then driving the "Look How Great I Am Bus" in an attempt to get to the Governor's mansion, all the while forgetting that the AG job IS to get criminals and not to say "look at me because I did it." And, he has lied about Onorato (sp?) who did a great jo in Pittsburgh. I think George W was a "cancer" on this country. I think that Obama has tried to "pick up the pieces" of a mess left by Bush and his cronies. I think we ought to give him more than 18 months to fix a mess that took 8 years. You don't know Jack about York or what you are talking about....

Harold Knows wrote: Right on, absolutely (pun intended). Toomey is beyond a Santorum wannabe. He is not interested in anything but what will work for him and his greedy friends. He comes across as a smug snake oil salesman, and I am happy that the YDR refused to endorsed him. Yea, I'm a Democrat and proud of it. I remember when Democratic folks here in York had the majority, but somehow you all moved right even though York County values seemed in the center. Of course, talk shows running 24/7 on WSBA with "Fatass" Gary Sutton, "Crying and praying" Glenn Beck, "Big mouth" Rush Limbaugh and "I'm the Greatest" Sean Hannity have all helped. A do nothing representative like Todd "I never saw a government job I did not want" Platts shows that York countains will elect someone who can smile and say "thanks" over and over despite being famous for his seat on the asile and his Mother's fudge (It IS the best). I am sick of the right blaming the President for the ills. George W. had eight years to screw up this country (everyone seems to forget that we were all GLAD to see him go)but now want to blame Obama/Pelosi for the ills of the economy. Maybe he and she have not been entirely correct, but what would folks here in York County have if the Bush policies had continued under McCain and a Republican congress? The only thing worse than Toomey in Washington is Corbett in the Governor's mansion. Corbet is another snake oil salesman who has "stood on the back of others" to shout HIS greatness while Onorato (sp?) has actually done something. Corbett has made promises that he knows he cannot keep. Let's see if the YDR can support Mr. O. All you Republican/Tea Party folks be careful what you wish for....if Toomey and/or Corbett win the rest of us will only give them a year to fix the problems. After all, that is how long everyone gave Obama. Everyone in PA seemed to like Ed Rendell until the economy went south and the Republican State Senate decided to NEVER agree with him. You think it is bad now....just wait until the Republicans get to "drive the state and federal cars in the ditch" again. If the Republicans win big I'll bet you two cheeseburgers at Ev's or Gino's that President Obama will easily "cruise" into a second term. What do you mean you never heard of Ev's or Gino's....and you actually call yourself a Yorker? Ok, Mike Argento tell them about Ev's and Gino's. I Agree with what you have said. Neither Toomey nor Corbett will get my vote

Permit me to offer assistance in helping to explain this to Mr. Seipp. You think Joe is a moderate. Joe votes the way Nancy tell him to vote. Therefore, you must think Nancy is a moderate. As an example; x=J, y=N. If x=y, them J=N. Follow the implication? So, if you think Nancy Pelosi is a moderate, then you are the one who is being absurd.

If it wasn't for the flyers and coupons in the Sunday paper, I wouldn't even buy that. Plus, I understand that the advertising sales department at YDR treat local companies like crap. I have heard so many horror stories! And then they wonder why ad pages have been declining.
