It is not the Robert's healthcare law, he properly characterized it as a Tax and boy is it a Tax. People don't and will not until after the election realize how much of a tax it is.

Just wait till people who are middle class start paying for it thinking hey wait Obama said he was not going to raise taxes on people making less than 250K. Why is he doing it to me.

I am afraid we all are going to cry unless they do something about it right away.

Anyone who has good insurance but not a so called Cadillac health care plan will eventually have a Cadillac plan because it is fixes on a set dollar amount,(10,200 a year plan0 once your plan gets more expensive than that you will have a Cadillac plan and will be subject to a 40% excise tax.

I'm expecting a medicaid plan with a Cadillac payment plan.

I have recently learned that tax issues can not be filibustered in the Senate making repeal more than likely IF Romney becomes President. If obama wins again you can forget about it since he will veto any repeal and then it would require a two-thirds majority to over come a veto.

Hey cretin, the "tax" part is if you don't buy any health insurance. You then pay a penalty. Because if you don't buy any health insurance and go to the emergency room the taxpayer will pick up the tab. That's why you pay a penalty is you don't buy any health insurance, you stupid, Birther, Tea Bagging, racist ignoramus.

As for rising health care costs - that is really complex. The pre Obama care system would have done nothing about that. The post Obama care system will do at least a little something to spread those cost amongst more people, while at the same preventing insurers from blocking those with pre existing conditions or just kicking people out of the insurance plan when they get a serious illness.

You are a liar and an idiot who will never know anything and who never will want to know anything.

Roberts was a conniving, disingenuous, corporatist freeek before, imo, and he still is now. He just went against the brownshirts on the court this time to make himself, not Kennedy, the swing vote on the Court.

Come back and tell me about it after all the taxes go into effect and they calculate it into what you pay for healthcare.

Hey dumb filth, I mentioned the rise in health care costs is a complex matter. No one thinks the mandate to incentivize the purchase of private health insurance will eradicate inflation in that sector of the economy.

Come back when you can acknowledge or address the basic facts I corrected you on, you vile, ignorant, Tea Bagging filth.

Thanks for displaying your ignornance for all to see.

Here are some of the new taxes you're going to have to pay to pay for Obamacare:
• A 3.8% surtax on "investment income" when your adjusted gross income is more than $200,000 ($250,000 for joint-filers). What is "investment income?" Dividends, interest, rent, capital gains, annuities, house sales, partnerships, etc. Taxes on dividends will rise from 15% to 18.8%--if Congress extends the Bush tax cuts. If Congress does not extend the Bush tax cuts, taxes on dividends will rise from 15% to a shocking 43.8%.(WSJ)
• A 0.9% surtax on Medicare taxes for those making $200,000 or more ($250,000 joint). You already pay Medicare tax of 1.45%, and your employer pays another 1.45% for you (unless you're self-employed, in which case you pay the whole 2.9% yourself). Next year, your Medicare bill will be 2.35%.(WSJ)
• Flexible Spending Account contributions will be capped at $2,500. Currently, there is no tax-related limit on how much you can set aside pre-tax to pay for medical expenses. Next year, there will be. If you have been socking away, say,$10,000 in your FSA to pay medical bills, you'll have to cut that to $2,500.( ATR.org )
• The itemized-deduction hurdle for medical expenses is going up to 10% of adjusted gross income. Right now, any medical expenses over 7.5% of AGI are deductible. Next year, that hurdle will be 10%.( ATR.org )
• The penalty on non-medical withdrawals from Healthcare Savings Accounts is now 20% instead of 10%. That's twice the penalty that applies to annuities, IRAs, and other tax-free vehicles.( ATR.org )
• A tax of 10% on indoor tanning services. This has been in place for two years, since the summer of 2010.( ATR.org )
• A 40% tax on "Cadillac Health Care Plans" starting in 2018.Those whose employers pay for all or most of comprehensive healthcare plans (costing $10,200 for an individual or $27,500 for families) will have to pay a 40% tax on the amount their employer pays. The 2018 start date is said to have been a gift to unions, which often have comprehensive plans.( ATR.org )
• A"Medicine Cabinet Tax" that eliminates the ability to pay for over-the-counter medicines from a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account. This started in January 2011.( ATR.org )
• A "penalty" tax for those who don't buy health insurance. This will phase in from 2014-2016. It will range from $695 per person to about $4,700 per person, depending on your income.(More details here.)
• A tax on medical devices costing more than $100. Starting in 2013, medical device manufacturers will have to pay a 2.3% excise tax on medical equipment. This is expected to raise the cost of medical procedures.( Breitbart.com )
So those are some of the new taxes you'll be paying that will help pay for Obamacare.

Complicated ?
Complicated ?

There is nothing complicated about I could not get my Doctor to change one of my drugs to generic, he explained why and I think he knows more about what is good for me than Obama. however, ObamaCare establishes a new tax on brand name drugs. This new tax is set to raise government revenue $2.5 billion in 2011 to $2.8 billion in 2018. There is nothing complicated about my Brand name drug when from a $87.50 copay to a $125 copay when this thing passed.

There is nothing complicated about Obama’s own bipartisan debt commission calling the budget reducing estimates as “phantom” and the actual cost will be “unsustainable.” Actual cost estimates for ObamaCare range from $1.5 –$2 trillion dollars over the first ten years.

There is nothing complicated about the fact that Obama has defined a Cadillac Health Care policy as one costing over $10,200. and did so without any allowances for that number to rise when costs rise, by the time that one goes into effect in 2018 my plan will be over that amount, I won't have Cadillac benefits but I have the Cadillac plan tax to pay for. The “Cadillac” Tax on employer-provided, high-value health insurance plans will begin in 2018. A 40% excise tax will be charged to the insurance provider for an individual plan threshold of $10,200 and $27,500 for family plans.

I see why congress did not read the bill before passing it, it is giving me a headache going trough it trying to figure out the sneaky ways I am being taxed. I am retired living on a fixed income , I am not rich and should not be paying for this shit.

There are mainly 3 types of people who defend/support Obama's ACA.

1. Those who don't pay for the health care they receive (i.e. public assistance funded people, who (btw) make up much of Obama's voter base). These public assistance dependent people are looking forward to getting even more free (to them) health care via the ACA.

2. Those who have a vested interest in the health care and health care insurance industries. This includes many of those employed in the prescription drug, H.C. and H.C. insurance industries (this also includes politician/law makers who take H.C. industry lobby money).

3. Public sector employees (who, for the most part, pay very little for their H.C. coverage).

No amount of propaganda spewed by such ACA supporters can hide the truth in the above.

Of course how to rein in the increase in health care costs is a complicated matter.

The basic Hertiage Foundation/Romneycare in MA concept of incentivizing people to buy private health insurance coverage is quite simply to grasp. You apparently do not wish to.

If you can't get a genereic drug then I suggest you drop your right wing BS and argue for a re haul of patent laws or else argue for single payer. Because any private insurance plan requiring you to get a brand name drug is health industry profit related.

As to the other fool, we were discussing the concept of the mandate in Obamacare. Of course other taxes in various areas, not just in the health care area, will have to go up. this is basic math - which racist, Birther, Tea Baggers cannot do.
