They're making another way for people to leave the city of Detroit. At least we know it'll get used. Is isn't really necessary and the city needs a lot of other investment first, but at least it is something.

The prime mover in the project is Canada. They foresee the need for it. The Canadian businesses that will use it will also benefit the USA with jobs. And the thing people on this forum seem to neglect is that Canada will be paying for the bridge. The USA will still be a co-owner. Michigan also reaps a bunch of badly needed construction jobs
