Hell, Hillary joked about Ghandi working at a 7-11 a few years back. Lighten up. We got bigger problems that a bad joke. As far as Robert Byrd goes, I wonder how many deaths, assaults, and harasments of black persons he was involved in as a KKK member.

Robert Byrd joined the Klan because of the culture in which he grew up. As he saw more of the world and developed a deeper understanding he repudiated the Klan both in word and deed. He showed a capacity to learn and grow, and to admit his past failing. The lack of these capacities is, perhaps, the greatest failing of the current administration and the stubborn fools at the top. Everyone makes mistakes. Better people, like Senator Byrd, can recognize their mistakes and learn from them. Cheney STILL says that Iraq had a role in 9/11.
