Cazayoux to Run for Congress

State Rep. Don Cazayoux said Tuesday he will run for the congressional 6th District seat in this year’s election “because the people of Louisiana want change in Washington.”

A New Roads Democrat, Cazayoux said he would run regardless of the plans of veteran Republican U.S. Rep. Richard Baker, of Baton Rouge.

Who did Don support during the sheriff's election? Just curious! I think Don is a very nice person. No offense, just need that question answered.

No problem here, Now I will have to do a little more research on that. I don't think you went in the voting booth with him, so how can I be so sure you are correct. I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Now I Know who I will support. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, you just made me a big decision for me. Richard Baker is a dear from of my family, and I just was not sure. Now I know!!!
Now what has Don done for any of us? One lady told me she asked him to help her and never ever heard from him after that. If he supported Paul, I have to give my vote to Baker.

Excuse me I did not mean to say I would give my vote to Baker, unless he decided to move on. I was simply saying I wish he would stay in BR and we could vote for him. Just Like Baker, and I would pray he will run against Don. Please don't leave Richard, we need you. Sorry, I made a lil mistake, No need to come back and bash me for that one.

GO JARREAU89" I like you. good friend!!! Now who do you think will run against Don? And who do you think will run in Don's seat? I have a few in mind, that I would like to see run against Don. If Don says people of Louisiana want change, then why did he support Paul Raymond? I don't believe he would let that cat out the bag. DO YOU?

Well thank you Question. Let me begin by saying that I selfishly hate to see Baker stepping down. He has been a good steward for the people of Louisiana. Now, on to the race. We know that Paul Sawyer is running. There has been talk of Jay Dardene but I don't think so. Other possibilities are Hunter Greene and a blast from the past - Woody Jenkins. Who knows at this point - guess we'll just have to wait and see.

As far as Don's House seat - this could be a full house. The only rumor I have heard and I don't know the name, is a local builder. Then, of course, there has been the speculation here on Topix that Ricky Ward might jump in.

I hear that Baker will step down today - he was waiting for Jindal to be sworn in so that Jindal could make the appointment to fill his seat. It's early AM as I post so, guess we'll have to see if that comes to pass.

i here from very close sources that PR will run for his seat. pr has very strong support in both WBR and WF parishs, he also just carried 50% of point coupee, that's outstanding numbers for any multi parish canidate.despite how bad torres people dont like him. remember here folks PC is a pinch os salt in this pot. oh and Ricky Ward will not run, also from very close sources to that camp.

It appears that once again people are trying to turn every topic on these forums into a Smith/Torres issue. I personally don't care who Don voted for or supported in the sheriff's race. How one casts their vote is their business and their right. I can only control how I vote.

That being said, we'll just have to wait and see who jumps in.

GO BABY GO - when I spoke about people turning this into a Smith/Torres issue - I was not referring to you specifically. I was just making an overall observation based on previous posts here and elsewhere. Please do not take any offense as none was intended.
