Congratulations Republicans! You have sold your president down the river and flushed the United States economy down the toilet. You have ensured that Bush's lasting legacy will be that of Herbert Hoover, economic and financial ruin for this country.

Bush says "a vote for this bill is a vote to prevent economic damage to you and your community." Actually it's a vote for certain damage to us and our communities for years to come. The only argument for doing it is the claim that the damage will be worse without it.

No, you don't understand. This whole mess has nothing to do with 8 years of Bush. This must have been started during some earlier democratic administration, that's the only logical conclusion.

Truth is President Bush appears to have wielded little influence at all upon our economy. In fact, they never even had the slightest clue what was happening in Americas economy. Guilt by neglect perhaps.

Congratulations. Now lets go back to the drawing board, strip those CEOs of all severances, they don't need it, they already have stolen enough. Why should they be the recipients of the taxpayers money? They have their yachts, I'd like to have something for my tax dollars, as would 200+ million Americans.

Wow.

This may get very messy.

If the banking system collapses, then the entire economy will collapse.

Give the 700 billion to the tax payers. If these businesses rely on constant credit so much then they deserve to go out of business.

Larry, It is the american people and their love for this great country that will keep it in tack,, not the government who have agendas for getting this passed. We will be fine...

Who would have thought that Bill Clinton's idea to extend credit to anybody with a pulse would turn out so bad? Why even bother with a credit check or income verification, just put them in the house, with 100% financing, no payments till next year, and see if they can convert their food stamps and welfare payments into cash enough to pay their mortgage.
