He was the ranking Democrat on the Committee and was able to rally Democrats to prevent Bush's proposed bill from getting to the Senate floor for a vote. Democrats voted along party lines to stop it. So the bill stalled and the rest is history. Same thing happened with a bill introduced by Republicans in 2005, which McCain supported.
Again, I hate to inform you, but the Republicans controlled all of the House committees in 2003 and 2005, so there was nothing the Democrats could do to stop them. Please try researching your thoughts instead of listening to propaganda on the TV and Radio Stations you are currently watching/listening.

You're clueless! You don't know politics in D.C. The bill to regulate Fannie and Freddie didn't get to the Senate floor because of Democrats. This is a fact.

The Republicans had the majority in both Houses of Congress and a Republican President. The Democrats didn't use the filibuster, therefore if the Republicans wanted to put a bill through, there was nothing to stop them...except for themselves. This is a fact.

That post you referred me to is full of sh$t. It only takes a majority, not 60%, to move a bill out of committee. Here is a link to a bill that moved out of committee on a 10-9 vote.

Try getting some facts straight. Also, don't send me links to someones post, anyone can write anything. Try using real facts and real sources.

Typical liberal. Telling people what they can and can not do. If I choose to send you those links, then I will. Nothing you can do about it. If you don't like it, then don't answer. It's still a free country. We're safe on that until, heaven forbid, Obama gets elected. One of the men who helped create this mess....sigh....

The bill was stalled because committee democrats voted along party lines to oppose the bill (H.R. 2575). They also sought to gut the receivership provision of the bill. Look, you don't know your history and I'm not going to argue with a simpleton.

You can't stall a bill in committe along party lines if you are in the minority. Sorry Charlie!

Everyone recognizes that Democrats played the key roll in quashing the legislation but you.

Typical fascist neo-con, facts are like cryptonite to you. Getting everything wrong is your montra. Blaming your failures on everyone else is your credo. Obama is going to win and you can't stand it. I'm getting 3 abortions this week to celibrate!
Don't count your chickens (the ones that have come home to roost) before there hatched. Remember this?

Swing states lean to Kerry
By Susan Page, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — Sen. John Kerry has erased President Bush's modest lead and the two candidates head into Election Day tied at 49%-49%, a nationwide USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll shows as an extraordinarily bitter and expensive campaign prepared to end.
Across the dozen battleground states expected to determine the winner, Kerry holds a 5-percentage-point edge — including small leads among likely voters in the critical states of Ohio and Florida. He trails by a similar margin in the third big battleground, Pennsylvania."

Gallop poll today has Obama up by two. Obama should be up by 15 by now. Don't get nervous....Are the Repubs going to "steal another election". LOL

I'm not the one that brought this up. You supply the link "to a real source", not a post on a forum" that shows how the minority party kept that bill from leaving committee.

How has your 401K done under Bush and the Republicans? Crapy?!? Oh, too bad. You voted for it so you only have yourself to blame. I have a pension so you can kiss my arse.

That site you sent me is non-sense. How can anyone predict where the stock market will be on some date in the future.
