You're clueless! You don't know politics in D.C. The bill to regulate Fannie and Freddie didn't get to the Senate floor because of Democrats. This is a fact.

The Republicans had the majority in both Houses of Congress and a Republican President. The Democrats didn't use the filibuster, therefore if the Republicans wanted to put a bill through, there was nothing to stop them...except for themselves. This is a fact.

That post you referred me to is full of sh$t. It only takes a majority, not 60%, to move a bill out of committee. Here is a link to a bill that moved out of committee on a 10-9 vote.

The bill was stalled because committee democrats voted along party lines to oppose the bill (H.R. 2575). They also sought to gut the receivership provision of the bill. Look, you don't know your history and I'm not going to argue with a simpleton.
