The people of this country are either so dam lazy to check the fact or just plain stupid. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters Thursday that the focus on offshore drilling was "a hoax" that ignores the failure of oil companies to drill in areas already under lease. Just maybe the leases that they have not given any oil to speak of and the money it cost to drill in these area that the Dumb A S S Nancy Pelosi is calling a Hoax is not worth the time and money to get from the ground to the gas pump. All the dumb masses have to do is check congress on there votes out on our own oil production and they will find that they have stopped or blocked drilling all over our nation. We the people are paying for congress cars and gas so why would they not tell the public that this is a hoax. People like Pelosi a Democrat from Calif now are the experts on what best for us. Our own Bobby Scott takes his marching orders from the B I T C H He does not pull up to the pump and pay $4.00 for a gallon of gas we take care of that for him. The Democrates and there Party could care a rats A S S about what we pay at the pump because they know the dumb masses will keep putting back in office.

Just a few points: Yes, there are some areas that have been opened to exploration, and yes, the oil companies have yet to pull any oil out of them. But there are some explanations. One, they've found no oil there to extract. Two, if there is oil there the depths involved and other logistical problems make extraction either impossible or far too expensive. The point here is that there are other areas where oil can be extracted economically .. and those are the areas shut down by Democrats. Of course, according to Nancy Pelosi, the real problem is the Republicans. She says that efforts to expand drilling are "a decoy to punt your attention away from the fact that [Republican] policies have produced $4-a-gallon gasoline." Really? What policies are those Nancy? Tell me what policies the Republicans have supported that has caused our gas prices compared to Democrats. The truth of the matter is ... you're all failures. Here's what's going on. Democrats understand that there is a strong likelihood that oil prices will drop – perhaps a lot – if the United States announces that we're opening up ANWR, the Florida Gulf Coast, the outer continental shelf, the oil shale lands out west and other areas to oil exploration and recovery. OPEC countries would immediately put downward pressure on prices in hopes that they could derail or forestall the new American effort. Democrats also know that the voters in this country have this nasty tendency to blame – or credit – the party controlling the White House for good and bad economic news. Democrats won't do anything that might allow the Republicans to look good ... even if you have to pay five bucks a gallon for gas. Aren't you people just going to love it when Pelosi, Reid and Obama are running the whole show?

MANY THANKS TO ENVIRONMENTALISTS ... ... for refusing to become a part of the solution. BP wants to expand on oil refinery in Whiting, Indiana. That would be a good thing, considering that a shortage of refineries is one of the many reasons why gas prices are so high. But one group of people out there is determined to see that this expansion never happens ... environmentalists. On Wednesday of this week, The Natural Resources Defense Council filed a lawsuit that challenges air permits granted to BP's refinery by the State of Indiana. Just keep these details in mind ... This investment by BP has the potential to increase gas and diesel output by 1.7 million gallons a day. It will also create 2,000 construction jobs and 80 new permanent jobs. This environmental group also says that the permits granted by Indiana "simply do not protect the public and do not live up to the law." Don't you love that phrase, "protect the public"? Do you remember the story earlier this week about Columbia? It seems that the "human rights" groups working down there were actually not promoting human rights at all. Instead they were working on behalf of the communist FARC rebels. And so it is with the "environmentalists." Their concern isn't the environment. Their concern is to slow and, if possible, cripple the American economy. They're anti-capitalist radicals, not people worried about our environment.

From the New York Times today,(NOT THE DAILY PRESS) a story by Carl Hulse and David Herszenhorn, the headline: "'Lawmakers Reenergized on Energy'-- Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine, said anxiety over fuel oil costs is at crisis proportions in her state. Senator Amy Klobuchar, Democrat of Minnesota, said oil drilling advocates weighed in from the sidelines as she marched in a Fourth of July parade. Senator Bob Casey, Democrat of Pennsylvania, heard it even closer to home, from his own teenager.'My daughter said, "Dad, what are you going to do about gas prices?"' Mr. Casey said. Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, has made a refrain in recent weeks of saying,'We cannot drill our way out of this problem.' But he opened his news conference on Tuesday with a different approach:'Let's begin the discussion here by saying, Democrats support domestic production.'" No, you don't, and you haven't. Senator Reid and the rest of your party, you have stood as obstructionists, you have been obstacles to America's independence when it comes to energy and oil.

Dick Turban has decided that he, too, ladies and gentlemen, wants to start drilling. Where is this story? Here it is, Wall Street Journal today: "Faced with mounting pressure from voters to respond to record gasoline prices, some senior Democratic lawmakers Tuesday opened the door to a compromise with Republicans that would open more land on and offshore to oil and gas exploration and production. Separately Tuesday, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) called on the Bush administration to draw down--" this is such a trick, "--'a small portion' of oil held in the government's emergency petroleum stockpile in an effort to boost available supplies and reduce oil prices. The White House has repeatedly said it is opposed," to doing that, it's a one-time thing, it's not going to matter a hill of beans, just doing it one time. That's Pelosi's out. She's trying to get people to go along with that idea rather than drill. "Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin (D., Ill.), said 'I'm open to drilling and responsible production,' adding that he and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid,(D., Nev.), could support a modest expansion of offshore production. Sen. Durbin said any compromise on drilling, however, would be contingent at a minimum on a requirement that oil and gas companies sitting on existing acreage either produce oil on those areas within a specified period or return the leases to the government." What if there's no oil there worth getting? But anyway, the drift of this and the essential part of this is, the Democrats can read polls and they see that over 60% of the American people are fed up here, and they clearly understand what it is, the laws of supply and demand, and if we had our own energy supplies or if we increased them, the overall supply of oil in the world would go up, prices would come down, and we would also be less dependent.

Democrats have an inexperienced, arrogant, condescending, moron elitist who doesn't understand why anybody would object to continually rising gas prices -- which is going to drive up the cost of everything -- then they are the latter half of dumb and dumber. This is a gold mine opportunity. You've got a Democrat Party presidential nominee -who has said the only thing that bugs him about four-dollar gas is how fast we got there. He didn't like the speed and the rapidity with which the price went to four dollars. Democrats wavering and caving on this because they see the reality. People vote with their pocketbooks. Democrats are on the wrong side of the biggest issue since 9/11. This is a huge, huge opportunity. An aggressive and innovative ad campaign wins this going away.

Democrats have started to change their position on offshore drilling. They are running scared! They are on the run. It's time to take advantage of it. Need to be full of optimism for what tomorrow brings. Like I said yesterday, folks, and I thought this was quite descriptive, even for me. I often do not compliment myself 'cause it would require a lot of time. There is no shining city on a hill without domestic oil. Ronaldus Magnus, the picture image he painted of America as a shining city on a hill, there is no shining city on a hill without domestic oil, coal, gasoline, nuclear power, natural gas. See, the Democrats have no interest in a shining city, period. They're trying to turn out the lights in the shining city because they think the shining city has been a bully, has been arrogant and offends the Europeans. So the lights are out on the shining city on a hill with the Democrats in charge of it. They've got the dimmers on. They would prefer a blackout of the shining city on a hill. By the way, that's not an Obama joke.

A question here about these Democrats who all of a sudden are now open to the notion of offshore drilling, such as Senator Durbin, Senator Casey, Senator Collins, who's a Republican, at least in title. I thought that the Democrat litmus test on this was that whatever we did had to lower prices tomorrow, otherwise it was a waste of time. In other words, drilling won't lower prices tomorrow, it's not going to affect gasoline prices tomorrow; we can't drill. What happened to that? What the hell happened to the mantra? What the hell happened to the litmus test? That's what The Messiah says. The Messiah, Lord Barack Obama, has not changed his position on offshore drilling. Not yet. He hasn't, he hasn't done so yet. It's coming, but he's still out there talking about it's not going to produce any oil or gasoline tomorrow. We either do something that lowers prices tomorrow or we do nothing. This is from the people who have orgasms over raising CAFE standards 13 years in the future. Cars that won't roll off the assembly line in 10 years, and they're all excited about their CAFE standards.

This story was not in the Daily Rag because it made Bobby Scott look DUMD A S S The story here from the New York Times was titled: "'Energy Bill Out of Gas'-- House Democrats are in a bind on the focal point of their energy plan. Worried that a floor vote on any energy-related measure would trigger a Republican-forced vote on domestic drilling, the leadership has scrubbed the floor schedule of the energy legislation that it vowed to tackle after the Fourth of July recess." So rather than have a drilling bill actually come forth they've shut down the legislation because they don't want to actually do it. The last line of the story is a quote from an aide, some Democrat, I don't know if it's a House aide or a Senate aide: "Right now our strategy on gas prices is this: Drive small cars and wait for the wind." And he's being critical of his party. That's their policy. That is exactly right. The solution to the price of gasoline, drive smaller cars and wait for the wind. That is precisely right.

I think the bottom line is our country needs to become more self sufficient (produce more of our own oil and keep it here in America), WHILE we search for alternative fuel. I agree that we need alternative choices, however, the citizens of America can't keep footing the bill for Congress to argue for the next decade. Put both ideas together and just DO IT.

Warner and Webb are talking the talk about solving our energy problems but when it comes time to cote the continue to side with their leadership in the Senate (Reid) and House (Pelosi). Both of these people want nothing more than to manufacture a crisis during this election year that they can blame on Bush. By standing in the way of any meaningful elergy legislation that increases our domestic production of energy, they can cause havoc in our country, ruin our economy, and cause shortages of energy where there should not be. They need to do the job of the PEOPLE and stop playing politics. The people are hurting but, of course, that is what they want in an election year. We can increase domestic energy production, nuclear, coal, solar, wind, drilling, and do it safely and with the environment in mind. We just have to clear the legislative log jams and do it.

The price of oil is way over the price that makes extracting 1.5 TRILLION barrels of oil in american oil shale deposits. We should be doing everything possible to do just that ... but, instead, the democrats are working to block it. Once again they use the "enviornment" and "global warming" to champion their socialist agenda. Better wake up people, while you still have a few liberties left not usurped for the "good of the enviornment" ... the collective .... the state.

"Democrats have an inexperienced, arrogant, condescending, moron elitist..." And now his condescending wife has the moxie to mock the stimulus. She says that they'll bring us real stimulus when they get into office. Talk about income redistribution! I didn't get a stimulus, but I helped pay for it for others. I guess, in her eyes, I didn't give enough and that I (and other small business owners) should be prepared to have my wallet vacuumed out in the name of social justice. These people are out and out socialists. Wake up America. We can't afford them.

Drill all you want. It ain't gonna make a difference. Suck all the oil out of the OCS and we still will have HIGH gas prices. You near-sighted morons just don't get it! You have to change. You are immature, so you don't like change but it's here -- now! We need an ENERGY POLICY -- and we can't until the Republicans STOP sucking up to oil companies (e.g. DICK Cheney et. al.-- enough said). It baffles me how stupid we Americans continue to be in the face of a global economic disaster. Go on, vote for McLAME and sit in your SUV until the lights are out. Just don't come knocking on my door for help.
