Pelosi floats idea of $150 billion stimulus bill

Bribery. My goodness we are already buried in debt. Just wow.

And the taxpayers should have been the ones to have had the money to stimulate the economy not the idiots who ruined their companies

Pelosi is the laughing stock of politics. Shes just to egotistical to ever see it. She makes me sick.

What do you expect from someone with San Francisco values. As long as those morons keep reelecting her, Feinstein, Boxer, Romero, etc.., there will be no hope for this state.

If Pelosi had a brain just think how dangerous she would be. Look what she's doing without one. As for Feinswein and Foxer there just isn't enough people with brains in this state to get rid of them. Some of us keep trying but you can see how much luck we're having.

At the start of the bailout discussions she had that paniced "deer in the headlight" look and fumbled her leadership role.
When the bipartisan bailout bill was ready for vote she jumped on the occasion to blame everything on the republicans when the reality was that deregulation was a bipartisan supported ( 92 to 8 vote in the senate) bill that clinton signed, and ignored that her party had been in control of congress for the last few years and had taken no action.
She has no leadership capabilities.

Is this dame nuts? Can't you keep her up in the San Francisco area and take away her travel privileges?

Here is a modest proposal, if anyone (including Ms. Pelosi) is interested: Divide the $150 billion among all U.S. taxpayers. That would provide a stimulus to the economy well into the future and allow some hard-pressed folks to pay off their mortgages and some of the other debts they owe.

40% of everyone who files a tax return DOES NOT PAY ANY TAXES!!!! In fact, many of them get 'earned income tax credits'!!!!

The Gov. just blew $300B a few months ago...a lot of good THAT did! Now they want to do it again!!!

Pelosi just stole $33B in PORK from the $850 Bailout to donate to her biggest campaign donor, StarKist Tuna, a division of Del Monte Foods, in San Francisco!!! She is supposed to represent the PEOPLE...instead she has robbed us blind!!!

Why does Pelosi and the Dems continue to treat taxpayer money like a piggybank? What? More money for ACORN to register more Democratic voters to keep these crooked politicians in power? No, no, and no to more "stimulus money" to those who don't pay any taxes. Just give us taxpayers a tax break!

Nancy Pelosi Democrats are pushing hard for the taxpayer bailouts to save the pension funds of labor unions that represent government employees, the top special interest that support Democrats. Those unions get Democrats (including Obama) elected and keep them in office as long as those politicians are handing over the public treasury to those public employees and raising taxes.

The other reason is that it was Democrats who ignored problems at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in order to mortgage loans to another of their special interests -- minority urban voters.

And Pelosi had the nerve to try to pin this on Republicans? How can you people be so foolish to seriously buy that Obama is going to give you "change" when he's really just another old-school tax-n-waste Democrat?

The Republican share of the blame may be in joining Democrats by ignoring corporate law that allowed CEOs and other corporate executives to plunder so much of corporate profits and then even hide the plunder in offshore accounts.

What a ditz Pelosi is.
The first thing that should happen is everyone in the House and Senate should be tossed out on their ear for incompetence. Then the Governor of each State whatever their party should appoint their replacements. As long as we're starting out with the financial system in the sump what could be lost with greenhorns? This whole thing is disgusting.

Why doesn't Pelosi do the nation a favor and go float herself -- face down.

I like Justice's idea. My plan for November 4th is vote them that are in out. They disgust me.

This is a very good idea Speaker Pelosi. We DO need to do all of the things mentioned to help get our economy going, which has been destroyed by Republican-instigated deregulation.
The above posters obviously do not pay any real attention to what is happening, and desperately want to blame the Democrats for the ruin caused by 14 years of Republican/Libertarian rule. It doesn't work people! FDR was right, we need a nanny state to protect the rest of us from the childish capitalists. Go Obama! Go Democrats!

Perhaps you can explain how a couple hundred new civil service bureaucrats earning $125K per year are going to "regulate" billionaire Wall Street robber barons? When is the government going to start living by the same rules normal people do? Don't spend more than you make. All the money they are throwing at the problem isn't working. It is making more debt. My husband and I work hard - we didn't borrow more than we could afford on a house. We didn't buy more of a house than we could pay for. I'm sick of having to pay for other peoples mistakes. Because they are stupid - we shouldn't have to pay for it. Where does Pelosi think we are going to get the money for another give away. This sucks.
