Hmmm, Colorado voted FOR obama, so we haven't seen anything wrong with the aircraft for fighting fires as we did last year when Texas needed them.

fleet of P-3 Orions, vital to the nations ability to control forest fires, were put out of service by the Obama administration following a contract dispute just five weeks ago.

At the time, the moron was in the Whitehouse.

According to Human Events, this leaves the federal government with only 11 tankers to battle the more than 50 large uncontrolled forest fires burning nationwide -- including the Texas fires that killed a mother and her child.

New Orleans got butt-loads of federal money for levy improvement and nearly ALL of it got spent by Democrats on things with NO relationship to the levies.
City and State Democrats were warned by the Feds to GTFO and they refused to do it.
Once the hurricane hit, State Democrats denied feds permission to enter WHILE going on TV to complain they weren't there yet.
Despite the 100% Democrat-caused delay, the fed's response to Katrina was still the fastest in all of U.S. history. Navy ships literally followed the storm into port but had to sit idle for a day or so until Democrats finally allowed them to actually do stuff.
Right across the evidently "magical" state-line, there was FAR WORSE damage than New Orleans got - land with almost no visible signs a town had ever been there. They got a LOT less federal help and were pretty-much back to normal a year later. New Orleans still isn't.
This adds-up to "It's Bush's fault" according to 100% of Democrats, as shiek puts it, 100% morons.

Moron Hillary:

2008 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is celebrating Earth Day by unveiling her new energy plan and by blaming President Bush's environmental policies for Hurricane Katrina.

In a fundraising email sent out to donors on Thursday, Mrs. Clinton alleges:

"In the last five years, the Bush administration has left no major environmental law untouched in their push to deregulate, undermining or rolling back decades of regulations put in place to protect our heath.

"The results are all around us," she says, citing "more greenhouse gases, global warming, rising seas, more violent storms like Katrina."

didn't they just slash the budget for the forest service?
.

.
oh yeah, they sure did.
.
and I think someone on a thread related to it said that those people shouldn't have built their houses there.

oh yeah, first post!
something about the forest service budget being unsustainable
.
(how painfully ironic that people are blaming Obama for the cuts the Congress made just a couple of weeks ago)

Those tankers were still operational. You lefties always say there are some things more important than others. There were plenty of NG crews to man them. Practice WHAT you preach.

so you deny that it was congress that cut the budget to the forest service?
.
and do you also deny that it was Le Jimbo (the notorious right-wing spammer of Topix) that said that they shouldn't have built their houses where they could burn?

Your apparently denying that Perry asked Nobama to provide more tankers and got snubbed. I'm sure you lefty spammers changed some words, harvey is famous for it.

The second largest state will snub nobama this November.

I thought you said they had the tankers?
why would Perry be worried about Colorado wildfires?
who cut the funding to the forest service?
.
it's ALL Obama's fault right?
doesn't matter, Romney will win in November, much to Obama's delight, and they'll be Romney's wars and Romney's economy, and the Romney show.

Our forests have been mismanaged by government agencies for decades.

Endless new "Wilderness" has allowed roads to deteriorate, and has blocked motorized access, so equipment and manpower cannot get where they are needed, when they are needed, in a timely manner.

Reducing, and in some cases altogether eliminating, the harvesting of timber has resulted in overgrown forests that are ripe for fire, particularly during dry years.

Incorrect thinking by forest "managers" that allow for the destruction of our citizen's property in the name of allowing our forests to "act in a natural manner", not only harms our nation economically, it is downright dangerous to the people who live and work in forested areas.

Before the nation was populated, wildfires had very little impact upon civilization.

That is not the case today. Managing our forests with with 18th century policies in the 21st century is irresponsible.

Blaming Romney in advance?

That's a new tactic. Congrats... you're the first.

It will be interesting to see if Romney would spend 3-1/2 years blaming Obama.
