Nobody wants to know what anybody discusses--that is rightly a private matter. But if the White House visitors have to be tracked, why not all congressional reps and senators?

I contacted his office about an immigration problem (not mine, btw), on the advice of several people who said that congressional representatives and senators could help, and his office staff was rude, arrogant, unhelpful, and inconsiderate. Not saying it was Platts himself, but I was treated so poorly by the person in his local office, I gave up. I had much better luck with Santorum's and Specter's office. They were very nice and very helpful.

You have an agenda Anne, and that agenda is that Platts will always be wrong because your buddy Phil lost to him - twice - very badly. You should get over it. When you become a nonthinking partisan, you lose all perspective. Oh, and Santorum isn't even in office any more, so just how helpful was his office? Duh.

This was BEFORE Santorum left office, duh..... I have no agenda, other than that I don't think Todd Platts is the best rep this area can have. And that has nothing to do with Phil Avillo. I supported Avillo because I think he had better policies and ideas. Todd himself is an alright guy on a personal level--I know him from our sons' school.

I was merely re-telling a factual incident that I was personally involved in. Not my fault the staffer in Platts's office was rude, arrogant and unhelpful, is it? And I didn't like either Spector OR Santorum, but their offices were more than willing to hlep me.

And I think ALL reps and senators should keep a visitor log that should be subject to FOIA. Don't you?

Just because I am not a Platts' supporter doesn't mean I have some evil agenda--I just want to see somebody different in there with different ideas who I think can do better for the folks in York, of which I am one. And that is bad, how?

Well duh! The WHITE HOUSE visitors MUST BE tracked in the event THE President contracts a "shanker" from securing a blow-job. Blame that on Billy, not Todd.
We in York County thing Todd is doing a commendable job...get used to him as he will be around for quite some time.

If you had READ my post, you would note that I said that representatives' and senators' offices should be subject to FOIA vis a vis their visitors. I already KNOW that the White House is! And I think the same standard should apply to the other people who WORK FOR US, the Congress.

Good God, political and ideological discourse in this country would be SO much easier if people bothered to really listen to and hear what others are saying....

And, btw, in case any of you are "assuming" that I am some dyed-in-the-wool ultra-liberal Democrat, you are wrong. I'm not a Democrat. Too bad so many people in this area are so enamored of what initial someone as after their names.
