They were hoping it would go away before the public found out it was their bill they slipped in when they had a majority in both houses. Now that it is election time, the new HIGHER rates go in attacking every student with a loan........it's always under the table for liberals.

One thing is certain education costs to much. How come we never look into where the rising costs are coming from?
My guess is that a large part of it is premium retirement packages and a glut of "middle management" positions.
Anyone care to prove me wrong?

Common Sense is right. WHY In the Hell are College Costs, which ARE FIXED, Rising Faster than Health Care Costs?

It's because it's all this Free Money politicians are throwing around. These bloated Loans are creating an artificial bubble.

House Republicans passed legislation Friday extending the subsidized student loans another year?

WHY?

No More Fricken Bail Outs!

Senate Democrats' bill tries to pay for this with a TAX INCREASE! Same problem!

This is More Bubble Economics!

The House bill is paid for by abolishing the new health care law's Prevention and Public Health Fund, an Obama nightmare.

Take a look at these FL university salaries
http://databases.sun-sentinel.com/Orlando/ftl...

other states have higher salaries and these professors have assistants who 'teach' their classes and work with students.

NPR should merge with Pravda since they both espouse the same anti-American ideology.

I thought Obama just spent a week promising to keep student loan rates low? The GOP agrees with him and now he no longer wants to lower rates for our kids? What a political douchebag. Where the hell is Vera Baker?

LOL - the R's called the D's bluff and Obama threatens to VETO this bill continuing the lower rate for student loans that the D's put in place, including the end date just in time to make it a campaign issue. I don't know about the rest of you but I am extremely offended that they think the general public is that stupid.

Tuition has gone up thirty seven percent since the Demoncrats passed the student loan bill in 2007. Do you think they knew their socialist college professor pals would get rich off the backs of the middle class and their kids? Where's Vera Baker?

The interest rate on "subsidized" federal Stafford loans for undergraduates, which mostly helps low- and middle-income students pay for college, will double from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent, Per the Democrat Legislation, beginning July 1 if action isnít taken to extend the current rate.

Republicans have taken action to Help. Obama, the Obstructor & Balloon Maker, wants to Veto this to increase Taxes!

Even funnier that the Democrats took over the student loan business to "fix it".

As a percent of the federal budget, student loans is just a tiny fraction, and look at the brouhaha over an adjustment of interest rates.

Extrapolate this problem a hundred (thousand? million? billion?) times and yet liberals still think they can run healthcare efficiently, fairly, and effectively?
