The list can stand on its own, regardless of any 'message' it sends - accidental or intended, real or perceived.

The paper the list will be printed on will still be warm from the printer, and somebody, somewhere will start analyzing and blasting it. It would be nice if just once, everyone just kept their mouths shut and acknowledged that, regardless of whether you agree/like/support these people, they all have made a mark on the world we live in. Indeed, in their time and beyond, they were agents of change.

Sidney Poitier is a racist who hangs out with Castro .. and considers Castro a great leader he also hates this country A LOT .. Go ask that to the many people who flee Cuba on daily basis. Henry Hyde on the other hand didn't want public funds to go to abortion .. so what is bad about that. If you are having an abortion you made a decision to have sex without a condom ... guess what if you to take a chance like that you have to deal with the consequences .. And I'm Pro-choice ... if you drive fast and get a ticket you have to pay for that. Abortions aren't expensive. And is this article comparing a leader like Tony Blair to Harvey Milk ... I never heard of Harvey Milk until they made a movie... Tony Blair was very important figure in the world ... He is giving the award to Harvey Milk to make the gay population happy because he hasn't done anything with gay marriage or "don't ask don't tell" ... he thinks if you throw a bone to them they will say OK We love you Obama .. it's kinda of sad if it works

God bless Jack Kemp. Great to see him honored. He represented everything the current GOP lacks, conviction, caring, compassion.

So how soon will the Haters come out to complain about these people? At least they aren't cronies of the prez like Brenner and Tenet were to Bush. Finally, honors for people who have helped other people.

Right lets just all shutup about what Obama does, after all we as a country have done that the past 8 years.

Maybe you need to shutup and respect peoples right to hold an opinion of who Obama honors.

Great news.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 40% of the nation's voters now Strongly Disapprove of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Only 28% Strongly Approve giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12.

While this is the lowest rating yet for Obama, it's still too high. Let's keep the pressure on this Marxist, anti-American POS and get Congress out of the hands of the insane Pelosi and Reid in 2010.

This has to be a lot more fun than working on fixing the economy, checking the record unemployment, or working on the small business bankruptcies.

Who would want to deal with Iran or North Korea when there is merriment to be had!

It's good to have fun! Lots and lots of fun!

Why work when you can just mess around for an entire day, maybe take a couple million dollar trip when you’re done.

What a great job to have!

Pelosi added: "On behalf of all members of Congress, I congratulate our friend and colleague, Sen. Ted Kennedy. Few have accomplished more in a lifetime than Sen. Kennedy has."

For once Pelosi's right.......Few have driven their car off the road into a bay, escaped the water tomb and left a woman to drown.

Stand up and cheer fot TK!

Well, does anyone have the statistic on what percentage of abortions are from these cases? Yes these cases are sympathetic but are not the majority of abortions.

It is the President's prerogative to give this award to whoever he wants, so naturally it will be a statement of sorts. Most of the recipients led change probably for the better. It remains to be seen whether the President will do the same...

"Senator Edward M. Kennedy has served in the United States Senate for forty-six years"

And how can we forget his 46 years on the public payroll, and doing so very little for this country.
