excerpt;
Eagle Pass Mayor Chad Foster assailed the Bush administration's actions as "sneaky underhanded measures" as he responded to a district court order forcing the city to temporarily turn over the land. The Justice Department sought the property to allow government surveyors to begin assessing sites for construction of the fence. "We haven't figured out what we did to make the big guy mad," Foster said. A U.S. district judge in Del Rio, Texas, ruled in favor of the Bush administration as the Department of Homeland Security began pressing ahead with more than 100 lawsuits to begin seizing property from holdout landowners in Texas, Arizona and California in its efforts to construct hundreds of miles of fencing by the end of the year. |

These border mayors that have been whining and sniveling about the federal government taking land to build the fence are either incredibly stupid or just pandering to their illegal immigrant population.
They cannot convince anyone (except the illegal immigrant population that doesn't have a clue or obviously could care less about our laws) that they haven't heard of Eminent Domain which is couched in the very foundations of this country and supported by Supreme Court decisions. Their rabble-rousing regarding this issue only appeals to their support and promotion of illegal immigration. Any legal citizen of this country, when visiting these communities will readily notice that all of them are nothing more than north Mexico. Go Feds ! Build the fence ! Add the armed with ammunition military to Border Patrol and secure and protect our country from the invasion from south of the border. It's beyond time for this to occur ! |

ROTFL! Bigger man, bigger stick. Hmm, too primitive for you. How about eminent domain laws, you ninny! Federal and the commonwealth trumps State, trumps private. |

"The leader of CASA, a coalition of border area residents and property owners, said the lawsuit likely would prompt the group to step up its opposition to the fence.
"It's outrageous," said Elizabeth Garcia of Brownsville, Texas. "They're taking away from the people their basic rights." --------- Good Lord, you would think they would read up on eminent domain laws and how the commonwealth trumps private interest. Get with the program. E Pluribus Unum baby! From many, one. |

You need to call your Congressman and ask them to co-sponsor this bill. It was just filed by Rep. Jones (NC)

Building a fence is an exercise in futility. It is not going to have any impact on illegal crossings.
There's so much area along the Texas border, alone. And to expect to knock a dent in the number of illegals with a stupid fence!!?? These lawmakers are so out of touch with the area they seek to control. I said, "fence", let me correct myself, WALL...just like the one between East and West Berlin. If Ronald Regan were alive, I think he'd be appalled at the mention of it! Furthermore, areas like Eagle Pass, which are around 94 to 96% Hispanic aren't going to take kindly to it. These out-of-state Congressmen have surely heard the phrase, "Don't Mess With Texas" I wish Texas would just secede and be done with it! This is a North American modern day version of a Nazi regime. All the elements are here, genocide, racial profiling, fear mongering... Bobby Fischer was a genius for renouncing his citizenship! R.I.P, Bobby! |

lRonald Reagan also said that his foolish Amnesty program would assure that the Illegal Immigrant problem would not be repeated. We all know now that the ultimate failure of his 'revelation' has lead us legal citizens, and country, to point we are at. "Nazi you say !" Does that mean the legal citizens of this country should start exterminating the Illegal Immigrants like they did to the Jewish ?? It doesn't make any difference what the majority population of Eagle Pass thinks or feels about the fence. Its called Eminent Domain. Like it or not its our law. As an aside, does your comment also mean that the majority in Eagle Pass is Illegal ? Surely the legal citizens would know that the federal government prevails after all aren't they Americans regardless of race (which you brought up, color, etc. The congress men from different states than yours are only reacting to the impact the Illegal Immigrant has wrought on their legal local, state and national population. The Berlin Wall ? Wasn't it built to keep people in ? Do a casual google search on that one. "Don't Mess With Texas" yea, right ! Lest we not forget Santa Ana - The Alamo, we all surely know what the outcome of that was, etc. Texas 'asked' to be admitted to this union. Times have changed. Now is now. The Illegal Immigrant problem from south of the US border has dictated this fence. Simple as that. |

Well stated, thank you.

You are wrong on many points. Ronald Reagan admitted that granting amnesty to millions of ILLEGAL ALIENS was the worst decision of his career. The fence that divided East and West Berlin divided a city. Furthermore it was not put up to PROTECT a country against ILLEGAL ALIENS. The fence we will build along the Mexican border is more akin to the Great Wall of China. Under imminent domain cities and states take land all the time. For the good of the people land is taken to build freeways, parks, sport stadiums, shopping centers, even apartment complexes. Not only local and state governments but private developers have taken land. The Federal government should certainly be allowed to take land to protect the United States. If Texas secedes from the U.S. they had better be able to exist without the Federal government giving them funds for school, roads etc.. The purpose of building a border fence is to FENCE IN our country against unwanted invaders. If Texas secedes from the U.S. it just means the U.S. will have to build our fence to FENCE OUT Texas. |
