Rio Grande Valley could be next for border prosecution program
“We need to educate a lot of people that the enforcement does affect the economy”
The Rio Grande Valley could be the next place border authorities target for a policy that arrests and criminally prosecutes all illegal immigrants caught crossing, a congressman said Friday. via KHOU-TV Houston

I think it is not a good idea. Since almost all the people living in the RGV have family that are illegal immigrants.

This is a wonderful idea as illegal aliens are breaking the law and need to be deported. We are not Mexico's porta potty or dumping ground. They can take their trash back now.

the mexican or hispanic signature is written all over it. hah hahh! better change the name to tiny river dryland or whatever.

Think if protesters want to protest about how racist america is because the majority does not want illegal immigration, then the protesters should boycott america and not sneak in! Stock the Rio Grande with Pirahna so the border patrol can work with a skeleton crew.

what happens when a people are opressed by their govt? they only put up with so much and then they revolt and things get better. by allowing illegal immigration, we are keeping mexico from being better. If the opressed were forced to stay there, they would finally revolt and make their country better. allowing illegal immigration is only supporting the 'coyotes' and gangs that profit and take advantage of the poor people who are being escorted in. as long as people can be brought in, those gangs will make money off of it and rape and kill along the way. also, they smuggle in drugs which is their main reason for their incursions into the U.S. we lost 2 or 3 thousand people at the world trade center and this is terrorism indeed. but what is it when an enemy targets our kids at school and kills all of their brains a little at a time? we are loosing more than 2 or 3 thousand lives to illegal drugs smuggled in through the border. This is an act of terrorism at its most sinister and we need our military on the border. Or train the sheriff's dept and border patrol in the use of some heavy artillary and sophisticated means of defense. saying that there is not a prob on the border is like having a loved one in denial. sorry to vent. but this issue bugs me.

Mexican or American it doesnt matter one thing controls everything thats MONEY!!!! Who is really pulling the trigger? The American's who consume the drug and the Goverment who is on the payroll or those who bring the drugs in our country. I am a Mexican/American from Texas who can trace my ancestors all the way back to Texas who have never cross or swam across the river. Trying to find out where the real problem lies??? In the American goverment or the Mexican goverment. They both care about one thing MONEY and OIL i.e Irag????? A concerned Real American..

Laredo has never been a part of the RGV. The RGV ends in Rio Grande City, which is 125 south of here
