I agree! PR does not pay federal taxes! They should not receive any tax rebates!
nor should the USA be sending them the enormous amounts of money that we currectly do! These monies are often stolen by corrupt polititians and government employees and misused. For the record I was born in PR!

Ms. Brown-Waite's lack of knowledge is appalling! Shame on her. And, shame on those who vote for such ignoramuses. GET AN EDUCATION!(the best way to do that is to not go to Florida's "bottom of the barrel" schools.)

Funny how nobody mentions the people in the mainland who will get the refund checks even though they don't pay federal taxes (it's in the article, read it again if you missed it) I think if you don't pay federal taxes, then you shouldn't get a check, regardless of where you're located.

As far as Ms. Brown-Waite's comments, she really is a moron. It's a shame how she can hold any kind of office in this great country and not know who's considered a citizen. Nice job, lady!

And to Butch, Puerto Ricans are citizens of the US. Where are you going to deport them to? Hmmm....

Such ashame how much ignorance remains in today's age. In reality the only part that bothered me was that she said we are foreigners. Yeah, make me feel great that all of my family served in the military at one point or another and I am also going to join after I complete my bachelor's degree. Agian it would not have bothered me so much if she would have simply stated that those who do not pay federal taxes should not get a refund, if Puerto Ricans where to get the refund would you consider even for a minute that they might travel stateside and spend 10x's that on goods and services here thus "stimulating the economy"? And all the above applies to my friends in Guam also.

Poor americans may day in Irak, however if they had gone to college with ROTC and became officers, the % of returning in a metal box will be about 10%.
