First, please find your <CAPS LOCK> key. Next, please educate yourself about your own government. Trent Lott's job is not enforcement, but creation of laws. You need to contact your state district attorney. Remember separation of powers? The legislative branch doesn't do the enforcing. Ring any bells? You may very well have a civil suit against the manufacturer, but not against a legislator. Yes, the government needs to 'reach out' to negroes. (They are incapable of doing anything themselves.)

It's a shame that I had to come back from serving my country in Iraq only to come home and watch my mother die from lung cancer caused by something that could have been avoided. And what is so nerving about it is that no one wants to take ANY responsibility, knowing that they are responsible. And to think that this is the country that I risked my life for. And another thing, this company (Joslyn) that we are talking about has made my family and community suffer and we want restibution (justice). It has been a long time coming and now is the time for them to fess up to their wrongdoing.

You have just proved that there are still racist jerks in this country. Always remember to be able to take what you dish out and honestly your comment doesn't mean much since you couldn't give your name.

It is sad that after servicing in IRAQ, you had to come home to such greif. I have also lost my mother and this is one of the worse kind of sorrows. I know we can not do anything to bring your mom back, but we can surely stand together and fight for justice. It a sad day that we live in a DEMOCRACY where a selected few voices are heard. We have an entire community where people are not only suffering from diseases caused from the exposure of dealy chmicals from the wood chip we burned for over 30 years, but we are dying. WE MUST STAND TOGETHER AND DEMAND THAT OUR VOICES BE HEARD! If we can not get the attention of the politicians elected by "we, the people", then we need to do several things, such as hold voter registration rallies and educate all people on the importance of voting, protest and picket these companies and politicians who are responsible! Our voices will be heard one day if we have to shout for justice from the church houses to the White House!

Trent Lott is just another mealey mouthed polititian that flows with the breeze of politics as usual, he will stand tall and tell you the most blatent lies , how he is working for you, yeah, have they fixed social security? nope, health care ? nope, have they voted themselves a giant raise , yup, more vacation,? yup, the ability to serve only two years and have full retirement benefits,? YUP. when america gets tired of these crooks and votes them out of office , that will be a good day, if these crooks were working in a private setting, they would be not only fired but brought up on charges and jailed, ted kennedy and the big dig {cost the taxpayers billions of dollars for his pet project] please go vote.

At least on the two items you mentioned, I think you're off base. Too many liberals, repub and dem voted against private investment fractions of 1/6 being invested for a greater return, and health care savings accounts as well. Liberals are afraid of people's independence from the gov't trough.

Yeah, okay. So? Lobbyists represent interests of the voters, and the voters' money. Makes sense. I agree it's open to corruption and it's not perfect because it's dealing with imperfect people.
