ACORN's troubles grow as it mounts counteroffensive

Full story: thehill.com

The troubles of a community group with close ties to the Democratic Party continued on multiple fronts on Wednesday, providing Republicans with fresh fodder and Democrats with new areas of discomfort. Even as the community group mounted a defense, Republicans increased their attacks and an ally criticized the group.

The Acorn analysis is in good hands with John Conyers and Barney Frank.

They will help separate the facts from the fiction generate by the hyperventilating right wing hordes.

yeah - the same jerks that said "they were too busy to read a bill before voting on it - Conyers" and helped to bring about the housing crisis by saying in 2008 "Fannie and Freddy are in fine financial health and need no audit - Franks".

Again - you prove what a liberal whack job you are.

I have about as much faith in Barney Frank as I do in Obama.

You spout meaningless political talking points.
You are a victim of political influence.
Politically influenced people are harmful. They don't educate themselves; they rely on politicians to shape their minds. Politicians are rotten.

You only need to remember two things, Gappy 'ol friend: Congressman Conyers and Congressman Frank are in Congress. And they are Committee Chairmen. They have the power.

And you? You are a right wing gadfly with your snot nose pressed against the glass, looking at the inside from the outside.

You will always be an outsider, so I hope you are coming to peace with it.

Is it a talking point if I authored every word, in about a minute, sitting and typing at my office desk?

Truth is I have a Masters degree, and while it's not in political science I believe I'm no lower than the 95th percentile studying issues and following government.

If you want to penalize me two or three percent for writing under the name PooPoo Platter, I'm willing to discuss that...

But NOT for my avatar! LOL!!!(...I'm still looking)

Masters Degree is Ignorance - perhaps

People with master degrees don't sit 24 hours, 7 days a week trolling sites like Topix, spewing lies and ignorance in order to hide the inadequacies of this administration.

You played football without a helmet?

We've both been on Topix about a year. Check the total number of posts. You've posted about twice as often as me. Is that with or without your name change? If it doesn't include your old handle, you more than doubled me.

Maybe you have a lot of time working the night shift at Kinkos, but twice the number of posts I made???

LOL!!! I hope you're getting those bathrooms cleaned!

Looks like CONYERS found the public outrage too much to stand.

He told Fox he wanted to open an investigation after the FIRST video, and said the "powers that be" told him not to.

I guess the "powers that be" went into hiding when the 4TH VIDEO broke out...

Conyers wouldn't say who the "powers that be" were that blocked his FIRST call for an investigation.

What an absolutely corrupt administration this is.

I admire Conyers for having SOME gumption to investigate, now whether he would ever COMPLETE that investigation, or would it become a farce like the Charlie Rangel investigation...who knows.

But Conyers gets at least a measure of respect from THIS GOP person....

Nice to see at least ONE democrat who stands up for the law...

I have a legal question regaurding ACORNs lawsuit against James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles. If they (ACORN or the ACORN employees) introduce the hidden camera videos as evidence, will that allow the state to use the same evidence in other legal procedings, including prosecuting ACORN or its employees.

Any help here would be appriciated. Thanks

I watched Rachael Maddow last night and she had a story about ACORN. How the right hates acorn. Although I have to agree that the pimp/prostitute thing was an outrage, their general mission was to help sign up voters, help with income tax filings, help find apartments, and fight for raising the minimum wage, mostly in lower income neighborhoods. The voter fraud story that the right has misrepresented was a gross distortion of the facts. The republicans know poorer people overwelminly vote Democrat and republicans hate it when blacks and poorer people vote. Raising minimun wage is always a sore point for repub's also. I think there were a few bad apples at acorn and they shouldnt be offerine advice on how to scam the system, but if they stick with the current mission to sign up voters, fight for raising minimum wage, fight for workers who want to form a union, tax help and so on, than I say Fu*k those lying republicans and I hope those 2 kids who filmed those cherrypicked tidbits get their azz sued for millions. Im sure they have a future with Faux News.

Right, because we wouldn't want criminal behavior exposed, would we. You people will do anything keep the truth from penetrating your brains. You'd rather side with an organization with proven criminal tendencies because that organization helped Obama get elected. If a conservative group with ties to a Republican president had been exposed in the same way, you people would already be talking about impeachment.

What I want to know is what did Obama know and when did he know it.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Aquarius

The atmosphere in the office is stressful. Learn to divide time in a planned and phased manner. Beware of starting a lot of new things but not having the time to finish any of them. Mental overload will burn your busy and chaotic schedules and health problems may crop up all of a sudden. If you party with friends this evening, don't make it too late.
