Full story: Long Beach Press-Telegram

In the early '90s, Mayor Ernie Kell appointed a "blue ribbon task force" to help Parks and Recreation locate an appropriate site for a Family Sports Complex.

Paul Brown seems awfully interested in what Congressman Rohrabacher is doing on immigration. Mr. Brown accuses him of blindly following his party. And all those liberal twits that are the majority party are doing exactly what about the illegal invasion? At least the congressman is speaking out on the subject. All liberal twit Linda Sanchez can do is complain about the folks that are tired of the Mexican invasion.

I agree, Oncle. Paul is a bleeding heart liberal for the illegals but couldn't care one iota about citizens. Yet he is the first to point fingers. Typical liberal!

RE; The well reasoned letter of the good Ann Cantrell on Kroc Center:

The major difference is Ernie Kell had deep roots and a genuine interest in the
City More to the point he is not corrupt----none of which can be said for Mayor
Foster.

Hey Onc from Hesperia! Zoom by it on the way to Sin City, just like Victorville, Barstow. No need to stop, what for? Paradise on earth. Not!

From Jim:' I would rather mine die while attempting something meaningful, such as sailing across the ocean, than being killed by a drunken driver or a drive-by shooting, which happens daily and is utterly meaningless'.

You must not have children. To even say you would rather have your children die in any situation is creepy and bizarre.

Stop worrying about America being destroyed by the lowest level in our society,
and start worrying about corporations off shoring our jobs, banksters destroying our ecoonomy, and insurance companies and there preexisting conditions forcing families into
bankruptcies.

We'll worry about the banks, etc.

You should worry about Jose taking your lowest level job...

What does *Jose* have to do with anything?

According to you analogy, shouldn't the worry be about the AMERICAN employer?

Let me spell it out for you. The American employer has to compete with employers who hire illegal aliens (here named "Jose"). This is not a viable business model and such an employer will go out of business because the government wants illegal aliens (Jose) to have jobs--we know this because they do nothing about stopping Jose from repeatedly entering the country and make it illegal to deport him from the major cities (sanctuaries). Since the American employer has a family and needs to feed and clothe them, he sees what is happening and realizes that in order to stay in business he must hire illegal aliens to survive his competition. Does this start to make sense to you now? Until the government controls the border there's nothing to do but try to survive until and if sanity is restored to government policy. Of course, there is no guarantee that will ever happen and the country may simply come apart at the seams. Electing Democrats is the best way to make sure Jose's cousins and distant relations are allowed to be hosted by your tax dollars--but that's another story.

If all the illegals left the job market, American employers would be forced to hire more Americans and they would have to pay more instead of depressing wages by exploiting the illegals they encourage to come across the border. This will significantly strengthen labor unions, especially in the service industries (restaurants, health-care, janitorial, etc.).

Lettuce will be $10 a head, but that's the goal of the Grand Obstruction Party isn't it? But that's another story.

Lettuce? Let these cheap growers spend the money to develop a picking machine. All the farmers in the midwest did so (corn, wheat, soybeans etc) because they didn't have access to or choose to exploit semi-slave labor.

So you admit that you're FOR continued importation of illegal immigrants. That's an improvement since it may indicate you're starting to be honest about your intent.
I am NOT for that. I want illegals stopped at the border and prevented from joining the Democrat Party which bribes them for their votes by spending borrowed money for their upkeep that our children will have to repay. I am FOR stopping them so American employers will be able to survive without hiring cheap illegal labor and will be able to pay a living wage to citizens.
As long as there are illegals here they'll be given jobs by those trying to survive in a labor market where illegals undercut wages citizens should be paid.

Since you insist on making this a liberal/conservative issue, I'd say when racism and bigotry are virtues, Democrats will have something to learn from conservatives.

Democrats are FOR giving illegals WIC, rent subsidizes, free education, the right to vote, and amnesty. Republicans do not.
The record is clear on that.

Not much of a student of history are you Stan? Do some research and find the democrats history of racism & bigotry is as sordid and shameful as the republicans. Not political revisionist history, the real thing.

You party hacks are great entertainment, I will give you that. You point fingers all day long at 1/2 of the DC political machine, yet believe that the other half is composed of innocents and angels. Wake up. The Big Government Party is composed of republicans and democrats regardless of how hard you want to believe in the two-party system.

Under the 8 years of Reagan more family farms went paws up than in the entire previous 200 years combined! Ironic too since so many farmers voted for him. Reagan is directly responsible for the fact that over 80% of America's aerable land is today owned by just 7 agribusinesses. If Ron Paul admires the Reagan Revolution then his supporters are in trouble as he was as big a deficit spender and deregulator as Bush, if not bigger.
