Letting ex-cons vote `the right thing to do'

Hang them in the electric chair. After giveing them their right to take it up the ass.

Does this mean all their rights are restored? I hope its restricted to voting, we don't need ex-felons being able to purchase a gun or get a concealed weopon permit. I don't have a problem if its only voting, seems fair the ex-crooks can vote for the future crooks.

Who will suffer when a jury made up of former convicted felons is deciding the fate of a defendant. Will they not sympathize with the defendant? How likely is it that a jury member stole a car, robbed someone or committed a burglary will resist finding someone guilty of the same. All of the effort and money spent by government to investigate, catch and prosecute someone will all be for not in an already flawed criminal justice system. It only takes one juror to have a hung jury. The wholesale restoration of rights to convicted criminals is irresponsible and further errodes the effectiveness of the prosecution.

Leave it up to the republicans, they already have the country in shambles with gas prices, taxes , insurance cost and a war no one wants, now we can put crimmals on your jurys, WQhy not as they leave the prison,give then a votor regestration card, DL, and a Weapons permit and maybe a C note to hold them over til there next job. I hope they all move around the A.. that we call govenor.

Absoulutely, the law states a jury of my peers, and I am not a convicted felon...

What? Are you accusing Crist of being a republican? Hell he just got the Dems thousands of votes. Hey why wait to release them let them vote while they are still in prison.

Felons can guess just as well as anyone else.

I dont get it. How will this help felons get employed or find a place to live? They are still felons, they still have their criminal history, its not disappearing. They will always be felons, now only with the ability to vote.

I'm an ex felon but never lost my ability to vote that's why I voted aganist Crist he can keep his bull.

Not only can they vote, but the State owes them a good job also.

I spent 3 years in state prison and never lost my right to vote and the state can keep it's good job. They gave me one when I was in prison patching roads so they can keep their good jobs.

Thank you, Governor Christ, for doing the right thing. Most ex felons should have their rights completely restored after they have served their sentence. Let people get on with their lives in a positive way.

Opponents of withholding civil rights from felons make no sense to me. How can a felon demonstrate he is a contributing member of society and pay restitution if his record blocks him from going to work.

civil rights is only a state of intelligence.

IT DOESNT! Once youre a Felon, you need to live with it the rest of your life.
