What about Obama's "Buy American" plan? I can see the point of trying to get the public to support US business/manufacturing etc.....but on the other hand I wonder where it will lead to the long standing historical economic ties between the US and Canada with $1billion+ a day in trade moving over the border?

All this madness started with free trade etc...2 richer countries like the US and Canada both took losses when the west starting dealing more with China and the NAFTA agreement which has seen Mexico take manufacturing away. Canada and the US have had their disputes on economic/trade issues but the offshoring/loss of jobs is not Canada's fault as a US trade partner.

Obama has been very good to us and the rest of the world. It is a truly sad fact that he is to be replaced by a Tea Party ignoramus on false emotion after only one term.

Canada is always exempt from those "buy American" initiatives. There is no way in hell to separate our economies. Mexico should be kicked out of our club. They aren't "Norte Americanos" . They are Latin Americans.

Things have ran relatively smooth economically between the US and Canada, few bumps here and there, and in my opinion a lot of job troubles etc all started years ago with bringing 3rd world dumps into trading plans.

Mexico is to NAFTA as Greece is to the EU. Only it is much worse because the Mexicans are all violent, drug dealing criminals.
