Rep Polosi cares more about votes and getting votes for the Democratic Prty candidsates.
I doubt if she knows enough to study the world situatiuon before she acts - this is based upon several of the actions that she has taken or been a party to those that try to undermine the administration and our foreign police.

THe main reason behind the push to regnize the genocide is that most of the supplies to our troops in Iraq pass through Turkey, and a war would disrupt that, and cause us severe problems.

The second, and possibly most important reason...is that a big part of our attack on Iran will come from Incirlik AFB in Turkey. http://www.incirlik.af.mil/

This would effectively put off our attack until we could juggle the air missions to other facilities.

Representative Pelosi, and everyone who supports the resolution are dangerously close to committing treason.

Our attack on Iran.

Another war of aggression being cheerled by a right winger.

Treason. What a twisted view it is when over 70% of the nation want us out of Iraq, but the fringe minority is given creedence; when the IAEA has said that Iran is years away from having a nuclear weapon, but George Bush and his disciples are ready to bomb them into the stone age; when, despite massive evidence of failure, corruption, and incompetence in the prosecution of the Iraq war, some people are ready to just let the same crowd tear into Iran.

Why should the U. S. turn a blind eye just because Turkey is an ally. You are correct why has it taken so long for the U.S. to Voice it's disconsent about Sudan. Before we start pointing fingers at MS. Pelosi and the Democrats why not hold our current republican administration accountable. For the War, Refusal to acknowledge Global Warming, Revoking Executive Orders generated to preserve our Enviornment, Pending Recession. Pending return to The Cold War, How about the republican blanket covering the President for a botched war Plan, and Last, all the families who lost loved ones for the lies they told us and continue to tell us to keep us in IRAQ

I'm all for that funny, oft-forgotten bit of the Constitution that orders Congress to issue a declaration of war.

Congress authorized the war, remember? They had a vote and everything. Was there ever a declaration of war against Viet Nam?

And here's a link for you which shows why he didn't need a declaration of war.

I stand corrected (typo) Discontent, By the way the declaration of war was carried out by a republican congress. As a registed independent let us hold both parties accountable.

I understand this but he was taken at his word that a "state of war" (was) initiated against the United States. When, how? As the congressman said, he lied.

The AUMF was certainly a green light for war. The Dems and Reps gave Bush the authority to go to war without formally declaring it.

Doesn't make it any less wrong.

President Bush has freed 50 million people from dictatorships (in Afghanistan and Iraq), and we have an opportunity to free more than 70 million more...I say we go ahead and remove the threat that is Iran's support of terrorism.

It is clear you haven't a clue in what you are asking not only our military but also our economy to endure.

It is also clear that you have forgotten what got us into Iraq were lies and deception. I whole-heartedly supported the afgan portion but the Iraq invasion was a personal agenda of Bushs

I have some idea what is being asked of our military, and our economy is the world's strongest, and capable of surviving 7 years of lefties talking it down.

Here are two websites to help you with the military thing, they are very basic in nature.

Where are the carriers? http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/wh...
and a helpful page on the IDTC
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/id...

Another thing to consider is that nearly everyone makes the mistake of thinking the next war will look like the last one.

Our attack on Afghanistan did not look like Desert Storm. Our newest attack on Iraq did not look like the previous attack on Afghanistan. And our attack on Iran will not look like our previus attack on Iraq.

My predictions for the attack on Iran are that they will focus on removing the anti-air system that Israel so easily spoofed when they took out the Syrian/North Korean Nuclear program, then on IRGC targets and their logistical support component, and some of the more radical mullahs, and (of course) the scattered nuclear program that we need to set back about ten years or so.

Those are my thoughts on the matter, at any rate, I wish our military Godspeed, and Good Hunting!
