Are you that ignorant to believe that Cuba had only one sugar cane plant, there were multiple plants owned by various business entities, Cuba among other riches was also the largest exported of tobacco products in the world, some own by U.S. interests. As a matter of fact unions were imported by the United State, the Mafia established the process with a cut of the action. Cuba was the spiting image of the United States with plenty of flaws but the people were free. Yes the Cubans fell for it, The revolution for hope and equality, envy for gratification without effort. As a resort everyone is equally poor.
Travel, yes you are right there are two regularly scheduled flights daily between Miami and Havana. I can't visit my brother, he would lose his pension from the military or face arrest. he denounced his two older brothers to receive it. and by the way, his pension gives him enough on a monthly bases to purchase a pair of jeans, and that's a Lieutenant Coronel pension.
Listen fool if the Cuban were given the right to travel in a family nucleolus the Mariel boat lift would be miniscule as an event. Travel, 90% of the population can't afford to stay a weekend at any of the tourist resort hotels in Cuba, the only time they get to experience the resorts and that's just off the latest policy, is when a family member from here takes them. Ironically the revolution over there was that of hope and change.
People our second amendment protects us from a Fidel, but just take a look around since Obama, how many countries are falling for the socialist agenda, Mexico polls has a socialist in the lead for president, France elected a socialist, Canada's policies are moving in those directions and what is Obama doing to protect our borders? people we are going to be called the evil empire by the zombies of a socialist united world, many will say you fail to come to our rescue, you are going to go down with us. A sentiment I already here from Venezuelans here in Miami.
Here comes the right Wing BS straight down the line Communists, Obama, Borders, Unions, Communists. God, you make me want to puke. Your last name is probably Watson and the closest you ever got to Cuba is those over priced illegal Havana cigars you smoke. I probably have spent more time in Cuba than you have.

Calling him a Troll is insulting to actual Trolls, lol

Lets lighten the mood

There is a 2 story apartment building with 1 apartment on each floor.

The Zimmerman family lives on the top floor.

The Trayvon family lives on the second floor.

At 2:00 PM in the afternoon a terrible tornado hits the building, totally destroying it. Which family lived?

The Zimmerman family, because they were at work or in school.

or how about this one

What did the Sanford sheriff call the Thug in a Hoodie who had been shot 15 times?

Worst case of suicide he had ever seen, lol

listen leprechaun when a government replaces ownership of a public business with its own selection, that's not capitalism, that's in a socioeconomic theory, is a Marxist doctrine. When Obama gave G.M. to the Automotive Workers of America, I think that's what they are called, we did not witnessed a revolt against the Marxist doctrine, or did I miss it? Case and point, whether they like it or not, said union has become the first socialist party in charge of product production in the United states. I will not buy a G.M. product until it is owned once again by Its people.

The position of attorney general of the United States of America ought to command the highest level of respect. One of only four cabinet positions that can trace its origins to the administration of George Washington, it is among the highest stations in American life: chief law enforcement officer of a constitutional republic that stands, like no other country in the world, for the concept of equality before the law.

Yet during the tenure of Eric Holder, the Justice Department has become anything but a neutral arbiter

Holder’s Justice Department refused to prosecute members of the New Black Panther Party who stood outside a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 wearing paramilitary outfits and shouting racial slurs at white voters while one of them brandished a billy club. While video of the incident left the public aghast, the DOJ dropped nearly all of the charges and dramatically narrowed the others, claiming the press had overblown the entire affair.

Amidst allegations that senior Justice Department officials wanted the case killed because they didn't believe that civil rights laws should apply to white voters, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights launched an investigation. During that time, one Justice Department official, J. Christian Adams, resigned his position after his superiors instructed him not to respond to a subpoena.

Attorney General Holder, for his part, was unmoved. When grilled on Capitol Hill about the Justice Department’s failure to follow through on the case, Holder snapped when Republican Congressman John Culbertson of Texas quoted Democratic activist Bartle Bull — who witnessed the event — as saying that it was “the most blatant form of voter discrimination I have encountered in my life.”

“When you compare what people endured in the South in the ’60s, to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line, who risked all, for MY PEOPLE.”- Eric Holder

It spoke volumes about Holder’s psychology. There was racial tribalism (“my people”), the characterization of a disgusting event as something like a breach of etiquette (“inappropriate, certainly”) and a failure to grasp right and wrong in absolute, rather than relative, terms (whether or not the Black Panthers incident rose to the same level as the most egregious injustices of the Civil Rights era has no bearing on whether or not it should have been prosecuted). Each of those traits have been hallmarks of the Holder era.

Within the first month of his tenure, he told DOJ employees at a Black History Month event that, when it comes to race, America is “essentially a nation of cowards.” In an interview with The New York Times late last year, Holder claimed that attacks on him were “a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”

At a speech in Atlanta Eric holder said “We've often seen that students of color, students from disadvantaged backgrounds and students with special needs are disproportionately likely to be suspended or expelled. This is, quite simply, unacceptable.… These unnecessary and destructive policies must be changed.”

Holder conveniently ignored, however, data that show those students were punished more often because they actually got in trouble more often.

When Arizona passed its tough new immigration law (which Holder’s Justice Department subsequently sued the state over), the attorney general publicly warned that the law had “the possibility of leading to racial profiling ”— yet Holder admitted at a congressional hearing less than a week later that he hadn't even read the law.

He compared attempts to overturn Obama Care to efforts to defeat Civil Rights legislation decades earlier.

President Obama did not give GM to anybody. GM is still a publicly traded company. And yeah I understand that Castro nationalized an number of businesses in Cuba. United Fruit did not own all the sugar plantations and sugar mills in Cuba. But they did own a large number them and bought most of the product from the rest. There is no question that United Fruit took a huge loss when Castro nationalized the sugar industry in Cuba. However the only two oil refineries in Cuba were owned by Harriman/Bush. In retaliation for nationalizing the sugar industry Harriman/Bush shut down those refineries and staged a lockout. Castro then simply nationalized the refineries also and reopened them. That is when Harriman/Bush and their business partner/lawyer, and head of CIA, Allen Dulles decided that Castro must go at all costs and started planning Bay of Pigs. It was all about Averill Harriman, Prescott Bush and their Cuban assets from before the beginning.

well, I hope one day someone you love for dies as tragically as Trayvon and someone just like you makes cruel, vicious jokes about the dead person, his manner of death, his/her dead body, you, your family...

hope you laugh as loudly then as you are now...

always beware of Karma - believe it or not, there is more to our existence than just being born, eating, working, breeding and dying - there is a Power somewhere that EVENS OUT everything good or bad we do...

I agree that their is a Power that Evens Everything Out and that is why the Thug Trayvon is rotting away in his casket and George Zimmerman is living life and will be exonerated.

It is also refreshing to see the backlash against the Black Supremacist Racists. They have outed themselves and their racist agenda during this case and are losing public support.

Nothing is better then the joy of laughter

A Hooded Thug takes a girl home from a nightclub.

She says "Show me it's true what they say about Thugs".

So he stabs her and takes her purse, lol

You MF leprechaun you are right, if you have been to Cuba in the last fifty two years you have been there more than I. My parents and I left with air lines tickets bought under someone else's name, on the next to last legit commercial flight from Cuba, landing on Key West. It was a flight on a DC 3, October 29, 1960. I still remember using cotton balls in my ears and I still have those tickets, I was 8 yrs old in 1960, and never been back.

Never the less, what you have fail to understand is if you have actually been there, that you have only seen the likes of a David Copperfield like production, all smoke and mirror. In the tourist section, most of the hotel have been built by the Spaniards and the others by the Germans, with their own workers, Cuba does not possess a trained labor force capable of building anything, they never have since pre-Castro. high educations in Cuba are wasted in the black market, Cuba's economic base dependant on what the families from here takes over there, and what we buy for them there in strategically well stock market place with any items imaginable. It's not for the Cuban's.

Like I previously said before, it would cost my brother a full month salary to buy a pair of Jeans and he is making an above average salary.

Internet is not allowed, two television channels both run by the government, available books are screened. The people are sweet and gentle but they will never trust anyone with their most private thought, a conditioning of survival.

The truth leprechaun lies in the depth of the straits of the ocean between Florida and Cuba where hundreds of thousands of Cuban corpses lay at rest, the truth lays on the abused stage hands that escaped from the productions (the system)above mentioned.

Leprechaun you don't know shit. You are a malcontent bullied for your disdain of normalcy, you blame everyone and everything because you can see yourself belonging anywhere. Nothing is true to you with humanity, that why no one can rationalize with you. Most of your pictures you posted in my space are of sceneries a hand full with possible friend, It does not take a psychologist to get a glimpse of who you are. You are less of a fit in a communist ideology, where you can't express your malcontent, as you do here..

The unions were given stock participation for giving up wages and benefits. It was a trade off. The stock holders had already lost everything before the President stepped in. In essence the stock the union was being given for their concessions at the time was worthless and would only be valuable in the future if GM succeeded. It was a stroke of brilliance because it put the unions and the board in the same boat. This year GM just beat Toyota and again took first place for cars sold. And now you are complaining about the successful merger of labor and management to save a great American company for no other reason than you don’t like the guy who won the last election.

Yes I know what a shitty place Cuba is. But what we were talking about was what started the revolution there and it was not labor unions wanting to be communist. That is ridiculous Right Wing spin. It was the labor policies of mostly United Fruit that gave Castro the fertile ground he needed for his revolution. For many years it has been believed that United Fruit was a front for the CIA through out Latin America. But those in the know happen to know that it was really the CIA that was a front for United Fruit.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Pisces

You're raring to go today, especially on domestic projects. You'll achieve a tremendous amount if you're allowed to proceed at your own pace and in your own time, but you'll soon get ratty if you suspect someone is breathing down your neck or trying to tell you what to do. You'll also feel irritated with people you know really well, so be prepared for a few fireworks.
