Chick-Fil-A Has A Powerful New Ally In Chicago

Aug 2, 2012 Full story: Silicon Alley Insider 51

Chicago Cardinal Francis George stepped into the ring on the Chick-fil-A gay marriage controversy with a blog post criticizing Mayor Rahm Emanuel's statement that the fast-food chain's values "are not Chicago values." I agree. The CEO made a statement based on personal opinion. Somehow, that got turned into "Chick-fil-a doesnt like gays". The only people this can possibly hurt are the franchise owners who have nothing to do with the whole mess. I wonder if there are gay franchise owners and what they have to say about this "controversy".

The abuse of media by homosexual leadership will continue, although it conflicts with standards supported by their proponents in the ACLU, etc. The impressive populist reaction to such abuse (a lot of people buying chicken sandwiches) shows an inherent strength, yet calmness of understanding in the American fabric. While it might be more appropriate for the standards of the Democrat Party (rioting, tarring and feathering, burning down their own communities, lynching, etc.) to be realized, the basic Christian values dominating the reaction in the marketplace is more hopeful. Let us hope the vicious proponents of anti-societal standards represented in the flamboyant gay community learn from the repetition of rejection they experience... before society chooses the former reactions taught us by the more troubling aspects of Democrat leadership.

I was going to ask: What do they want to do? Destroy all gays? I have never seen such venomous hatred as that spewed forth from homophobes. They are merciless, and feel justified in their cruelty.

The emotional retardation of gays is almost more offensive. They want to be left in peace to perform their perversions... not too cute to those knowing what it takes to maintain family and societal structures. Gay behavior is a threat to stability. They rely upon and take advantage of human weakness. The predatory nature is the absolute same as other criminal predations. It's like bad seed children. It takes a while for society to admit and accept such offensive failure could ever happen. The current exaggeration of the problem is we've given the child a knife.

If the church is so concerned with familial values and such, why don't they put as much effort into discouraging people from just living together without being legally married? I don't condemn those who do so, I'm not a moralist, but soon marriage may become a thing of the past. I would find that very sad. Must go , computer problems. Sorry.

The support for Chick Fil-A has to do with free speech, and not with "destroying gays." Cathy has a right to express his belief.

Besides, how is standing in line to support free speech "merciless" and "cruel"?

Based on the potential owner extended vetting process CFA uses, it would be surprising if any owners are gay.

I will say bs to anyone who says the support for CFA is about free speech. That is a convenience to make it seem more acceptable to the masses.

It is about the marriage controversy and Cathy's words and his Company's contributions to various so called family groups makes that very obvious.

Have it your way;I can't do any more than express my opinion. I just can't hate someone for their sexual orientation. It's not my business how nature/God made them.

That's probably because you are looking at this issue from a linear perspective. However truth is found in the *depth* of a thing.

Sure, the surface issue was ssm, but the minute the left whined its politicians into blocking future Chick-Fil-A's from doing business in certain cities, the issue became one of free speech. Anyone has a right to boycott, since we all have the right to do what we want with our money. But by the same token, so does Cathy have the right to do what he wants with his money.

It is unamerican to prevent a man from doing business because of something he said.

Saying that the definition of marriage is male/female is not "hating someone for their sexual orientation."

I respect your right to express your opinion, but the support on Wed Aug 1st were people going to the chicken place to show support of Cathy's statements, not his right to speak. No one has told him to shut up, they just think he is religous fruitcake for the forum he selected.

No matter how deep you think you have to make it, this is a same sex marriage issue and the gays right to share in those privledges just like everyone else.

Gays are no more a predator than you are. Are you a phycological expert on gay behavior or just a common run of the mill so called Christian expressing your right to be prejusticed?
