Congressman Wexler a statesman, not a politician

On Aug. 14, you headlined a vitriolic letter against Congressman Robert Wexler calling him a "politician." Well, a politician is a person who is active in party politics, and although the word is often used in ...

Adele Kaserman defines politician down in a vain attempt to build Wexler up. She should have let well enough alone. Kaserman, by her own admission, claims that a politician is defined by merely activity in party politics. As silly as this definition is, Wexler fails even this. Has Kaserman forgotten Anderson? Has Kaserman forgotten other efforts by Wexler to select party candidates? Has Kaserman forgotten about Wexler running around during the 2000 recounts? Has Kaserman forgotten about Wexler running around during the Clinton impeachment claiming "it was just about sex"?

Then, too, Kaserman must be the only person in the world that would consider Wexler a "statesman". First, she needs to review the definition and then she will see that Wexler has zero leadership qualities. To be a leader, you need to have, you know, followers. Wexler has none.

All in all a very strange letter.

the letter writer is badly misinformed on the law...she wrote this:

"It is absolutely true that Florida statutes of long standing affirm that an elected official, while performing his federal duties, does not have to live in the state of Florida."

the truth is this:

"The Constitution of the United States of America is the supreme law of the United States......Representatives must be at least 25 years old, have been a citizen of the United States for 7 years, and live in the state they represent."

Rick -- Word around here is that Wexler has instruced his close friends and staff members to get positive publicity for him. Writing letters like this is just one way. I have to wonder if the letter writer is on his staff or a relative.

Dear Ms. Kaserman,

Wexler's consistent opposition to the 2nd Amendment makes your claim that he defends the Bill of Rights absolutely laughable.

His "unselfish devotion to the Constitution" was well publicized when he tried to steal the 2000 election from George Bush - you may have forgotten how many times the ballots were counted and Bush still won.

Wexler is a disgrace - but he does represent the whining elitist ninnies of Palm Beach County very well - thanks to Wexler, the whole country knows what to expect from Palm Beach.

by the way it is not illegal to live in an over 55 community. only one person in the household has to be over 55..

so we are totally fed up with your mountains out of molehills...

and robert has not asked me to write this at all...he does not even know that our household supports him 110%...after hereing the current crop of candidates here in PBC...Robert is still a star...

It is more than a bit humerous that Wexler is speaking on the military/military families.

Having lived on military bases for 18 years, I find this individual to be the last person that has any business speaking on anything related to the military and military families.

A guy that took a job that made it necessary to be away from his family and then once gaining the position, moved his family down the road. Not once did I ever hear the representative of my district mention that he lived in another state.

Wexler has no business speaking on military or their families. He knows not the sacrafice associated with those who serve in the military. I sincerly hope he losses his seat.

Another nit wit that supports their party at all costs...even when the stone cold busted liar rents a house after the fact!!!! Don't worry voting along party lines is a disease Republican and Democrat voters both have. So keep up the support 110%. It will just support the fact that voters are 110% dumb!!!!!

Wexler is a prime example of the crooked politicians we send to Washington that need to be removed/replaced.

The guy doesn't even live in the district or state!

No wonder Obama has him as campaign chair for Florida.

Most of the people in his district supported Clinton...so who does he support...Obama...he is so out of touch with Florida and the problems we have here...Let him run for office in MD...He will show up down here..throw a few bagels around and think the people will follow him like good sheep.....
