Did Pelosi cause of the bailout bill's rejection?

When Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as the first Democratic House speaker in 12 years, she promised to reach across the aisle to Republicans, to be "speaker of the House -- the entire House." In tribute to that ...

So, the republican congressmen are little babies that easily get their feelings hurt. Maybe they should grow up, act like adults and put the country first for a change. Gee, that sounds like a good slogan, I wonder if any republican has heard that, "Country First"?

Though no one doubts the chill that engulfs any space when Pelosi is present, the Congress should be well prepared for her constant stream of dishonorable, degrading, dismissive, tripe after all this time. After all, she is a "progressive".
Hatred, Chaos, and Intolerance are the tradmarks of that particulary distasteful segment of the Party.

It would be dishonest to say that every one in the Room is not aware that she is evil incarnate.

bailout = promoting socialist economic policy in America
bankruptcy = promoting captialism in America

Why cant anyone take responsibility for their actions and take a loss. What a shame, looks like the American taxpayer is the scapegoat once again.

Clearly NP set this up to fail for her party's own political purposes. She missed a huge personal opportunity to lead and this will not be forgotten. She will pay a huge political price and ultimately be relegated to the bowels of the Democratic party, perhaps where she feels more comfortable anyway...

Roy Blunt the GOP whip double-crossed GOP leader John Boehner and GOP President Bush and refused to deliver the necessary GOP votes to pass the Treasury bail-out.

Blaming Pelosi for the failure to the Republican President's plan is just another example of the House GOP caucus members' unwillingness to take responsibility for their actions,.

IF her speech did have any impact whatsoever, then THAT is what would be appalling to me. Any representative that would swing their vote because of hurt feelings, on EITHER side, is not living up to their sworn oath of office.
If this bill failed because the representatives received an overwhelming rejection from the public in their own home states, THEN you have a real reason to vote against this bailout bill.
All of this partisan garbage is ridiculous.

I don't have the entire comments from Ms. Pelosi, but the problem took a while to reach this stage and it will take a while to fix. Give our elected officials some slack. I am not convinced there needs to be something done "right away". Pres. Dwight Eisenhower said that nothing important is ever urgent. We should all keep that in mind.

The Republicans obviously tried to bamboozle the Dems into passing the bill all by themselves after making promises that they didn't or couldn't keep. Now they try to blame them for it *not* passing. The ones who voted for it obviously thought their party was going to pass it, but their fellow Republicans were too chickenshit. Nobody changed their mind over another speech. If they did, they are *idiots*. Let them stand up and be counted. McCain and the GOP failed to get their own party to agree to their own bill! Then the doofus tried to blame Obama! Hello?

Can you translate the headline to English, please?

Are we supposed to feel bad that the bailout did not happen? Have you checked any polls lately? The majority of American people do not want a bailout. Business should take care of itself. This is not a socialist country, government subsidy of business in a capitalist nation is not welcome by its citizens.

The plan of recoupment I envision calls for the three phase joint action of the United States Congress legislation and the Executive Committee United Supreme Court judiciary, specifically; over three months: (1) in the month of October, inquiry at GAO and in the resources of federal agencies and inspector generals into the explanation and evaluation where the existing infrastructure requires development; (2) in the month of November, review of jurisdiction of committees framework begun House Financial Services Committee Subcommittee capital markets (5 November 2003); and, model legislation proposed by Kemp Hannon's financial services National Conference of Commissioners approach to judgement; and (3) in the month of December, Legislative and Judiciary structural review, to correlate troublecase with modernization act responsibility by association for ordinary continuance by financial institutions. The HR 3997 needs revision: precisely, the Secretary of the Treasury consultative responsibility to the President can be assisted by appointment of legal oversight on pro tempore basis; the Uniform Disclaimer of Property Interests Acts 1999 establish the intention to redress and cure; the comparative evaluative analysis of administrative law (as written by Bruce Atkinson, Yale Law Review 2002 among others) can be applied; and financial institution standards of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 compelled by association either incorporated or unincorporated national taskforce for a strategy of transaction economics to include exchange and conversion mechanisms.

John McCain caused it to fail! LOL. What a twit. He could not even deliver a vote in favor of it from his own state.
