Send the carrier down to FL. At least they treat military well down there. This should be Navy town but it isn't. I have felt like a second class citizen my entire four years here. I'm leaving next week for Jacksonville and I couldn't be happier. Good riddance. All you want is our money. You want our ships for money and jobs but you don't want us. You want to close Oceana due to the noise but you still want us to spend our money. Forget you. Later.

I agree with the above poster. Virginia only cares about themselves, not the military. The Navy should remove ALL carriers from there.

I am a native of San Diego and greatly concerned that the military here feels badly treated please let me have specific things that I can do to help. I will fight for what you need if you just clue me in and I would be willing to bet there are more just like me. America could not be (at all) without our military. My family appreciates you very much and I mean all 2,000 of us accounted for nationwide and we have military personnel in our family but not in immediate. We lost a cousin in Iraq Chris Blanda and he left behind a wife and several small children, father, mother and sister he is greatly missed by all but he was proud to do what his country needed. We need to stand by our MILITARY NOW AND ALWAYS! IN GOD WE FOREVER TRUST!

According to Wikipedia, a WARNING prophecy (concerning Obama being the wrong man for president) was given over 43 years ago. THE WOMEN HAVE BEEN PERMITTED TO VOTE. AND IN VOTING, SOMEDAY THEY LL ELECT THE WRONG MAN. by William Marrion Branham who died 24th December, 1965 in Friona, Texas. Branham prophesied in February 1964 the Good Friday, Prince William Sound, Alaska earthquake, which struck with a magnitude 9.2 force.(There is well documented evidence elsewhere and noted references in Wikepedia for research). This scene is busy being played out in the USA elections. The women who once voted for Hillary Clinton are presently showing their allegiance towards Barack Hussain Obama, which is not a good thing and hopefully this warning has not come too late. With either candidate America is going to face future problems but the one candidate will make matters far worse than the other. Too great a change is not always good and can unsettle an already unsettled and troubled nation. Obama possibly winning the USA elections may be one of the many important elements causing so much unsettlement in the USA economy and world-wide. Strange that much of the crises has surfaced since he has decided to run for office and is worsening as time moves closer. The novelty of voting for a black man will wear off and one will be down to basics and reality on the ground. Each person is influenced by ones background and sympathy towards their own race/races which can have disastrous consequences for those who are of the opposite race or those of the black race already residing in America. The right person as president (in this case McCain) can pick up the pieces and move towards healing the economy, sorting out homes, giving back jobs. He will sort the situation out without making things worse in such troubled times. Troubled times are not the right time to change things drastically and still rely on the thought pattern of someone who has had so much turmoil in his own life. Dont believe that everything will just come right over night as politics is not magic. That is not reality - and what Americans are doing is trying to live out a dream. Remember prophecy can change if America wakes up in time. Biblical prophecy already written cannot change. Prevention is better than cure. PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE.

You blogged on the wrong topic: The transfer of the carrier does not have anything to do with your blog. I disagree that all ladies voting for Clinton are now voting for Obama and that it is profesied that it will be only the ladies at fault if he gets into office but I do agree with you're choices McCain will get the job done not Obama. Gender should have nothing to do with blaming anyone on who votes for whom. There will most likely be more male than female votes for Obama but like I said we should not be counting.

what does the prophecy have to do with transfering carriers?! Second of all there is no mention of this kind of prophecy in the bible. Stick to the issue dimwit or don't post anything at all!

My Fellow forum commentors replying to "John" from Parow, South Africa...STOP. This political antaganist is just trying to get a rise out of you, a reaction to cause hate and discontent among American voters. It does not matter who you vote for in the upcoming election, what matter's is we live in America, where we have the right to vote. Now for you "John", what kind of moron from South Africa cares what we do with our carriers...in fact maybe we should take our carrier and shove it up your country's a**hole in South Africa that way we can respond better to high sea hijinks of the coast of Somalia quicker with superior air power and turn little rebel villages into a golf course.

I am sorry you lump all of us right wing christian fundamentalists into such a know nothing category. I promise we are not all like the above otherwise I would not have been the first one to single him out. Please keep being upset with persons such as him but please don't accuse us (all) of being like him. I have not yet found in the bible what he claims but I am still looking for any connection he may have used to come up with his supposed prediction. I believe in scripture and verse to back up what we claim and then let the individual be responsible for how they take it or what they do with it. We are responsible to share with you not to ram it down anyones throat. Forgive any anger I may have caused you please. By the way I am white/native American mix and some of my best friends are black and several other nationalities as well. So white-bread for me may apply but would not be necessary-are we so sure the above is white?

Having all the carriers at one base is completely idiotic. All these lawmakers care about is the money. The real issue is national security and all the carriers at one base just makes too little sense. One container slips into port with a nuclear weapon and not only is Norfolk gone but so is the United States naval dominance of the world. How fortunate we were in 1941 that our carriers were not in port. Jacksonville Beach is a decent place to live. They have free parking, white sand, NFL football, and warm weather. It is actually possible to see the ocean there without walking through a hotel. US Navy, please send me back to Mayport!

During 17 years being stationed at NAS Oceana, I had seen significant changes to the environment in the Hampton Roads area. The area only want the military community for the money that they depend on . When 9/11 happened, they had so much love for those of us that were in uniform. But, once that passed, once again the We hate jet noise started and stories of how they with we would go away. For the milliions of dollars that these military families spend in the local economy, there should be more support for them . Most of the times when I would be out and about, you could hear all the dergrading comments about soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines . Maybe it would be better to go where they are truly appreciated.
