America's Class War: Billionaires Against the Unions

Jun 8, 2012 | Posted by: Mr_Bill | Full story: www.newyorker.com

Barney Frank and Ed Rendell are right. In seeking to recall Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, the public-sector unions and their allies on the progressive wing of the Democratic Party made a big mistake.

“My side picked a fight they shouldn’t have picked,” Frank told The Hill. “People need to be more strategic about the fights they pick.” In other places, such as Ohio, Democrats have successfully campaigned in state legislatures to roll back Republican anti-union initiatives. But rather than following such a strategy in Wisconsin, they tried to drive Walker out of office, alienating independent voters and bringing down upon themselves a deluge of conservative money.

"Americans are famously reluctant to adopt the language of class warfare, or even to acknowledge its existence."

uh, that would not be an accurate statement as far as the obama campaign is concerned--they see ginning up class warfare as their key to re-election...

When the unions raise their salaries and wages by 10% the billionaires and millionaires raise their salaries prks bonus compensation stock options by same percentage, the union works get 2 bucks and hour more the millionaires gets a couple or more millions but the old poor pensioners get 0. So who's going to win the battles? Inflations would prevail. People are idiots.

That's correct, the only problem is the country and the wehole society will be impacted by the greediness and selfishness of the greedy rich. They don't really create jobs for the workers only for the high end luxurious products form their personal indulgents and obscene consumptions which affects the health of the natural resources suppies.

It's only class warfare when workers demand a fair shake. Historically nations with wide class divides do not last long.

That is exactly how the commie may win the election. You see, there are more voting idiots than intelligent people who will actually believe there is some kind of class warfare going on. The mega rich have existed since the beginning and they will continue to exist in every society. The difference USE to be in America....there was room for the average person to climb out of poverty and become whatever he/she wanted to become. There was once a flurry of business owners who could thrive and live independently and happily. They could send their kids to college, take vacations, live in a nice home in a nice neighborhood, they could save for their retirement, they could enjoy life. As govt. grew and began taking more and more away from the hardworking to give to the lazy.....life in America began to change. The class warfare exists between those who want government to care for them and those that do not. It's a battle between the gullible and the independent thinkers.

Give it up unions! You lose. America doesn't want good jobs or a Middle Class. Average Americans like to depend on the whims of the free market and competition, just as much as billionaires do. If you are old, sick, slow, or lazy, too bad. If you weren't born into wealth, too bad. The problem with the poor is that they have less money to gamble. That's not our fault. As long as the rich, can keep getting corporate welfare, we can maintain the status quo, with the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Don't blame billionaires, blame Darwin. Only the unscrupulous survive. To hell, with old-style Christianity. We are Mormons now.

If there's a Class War in America, it's not the Billionaires against Unions, and it's certainly not the Billionaires picking the fight.

This isn't an issue about labor unions; it's an issue about public sector jobs in general. The states are going bankrupt and cannot adfford to provide high paying secure jobs for Americans. Even if the governor gave into their demands, the Wisonsin would go bankrupt and it would be forced to pay them off anyhow.

Clearly, the hard working private sector Americans stood up to the Obama's sponsored Union Bosses that oppress the private sector and live on their backs with outrageous benefits that the private sector do not have. Thanks the Lord for defeating Obama and his anti-American Union Bosses and hordes that will lose their grip over the hard-working Americans of the private sector. Thanks the Lord for the great American patriotic hero Governor Scott walker who stood up to the communist dictator Obama regime and his parasite Union Bosses who demanded more and more money for their parasite members who live on the back of the private sector. Thanks the Lord for the great American conservative leader who save Wisconsin from bankruptcy that anti-American agenda of Obama and his Union bosses that were defeated by the private sector hard working Americans who demanded balanced budget that Obama refuses to deal with. Thanks the Lord for the courage of the people of Wisconsin who stood up to the evil regime of foreign agenda that Obama brought to America only to convert America to the country of the poor and food stamp people. Thanks the Lord for freeing the people of Wisconsin from the grip of the greedy bosses of the Federal Unions that treat the American people as their slaves that need to provide them with outrageous benefit that no American private sector can provide. Thanks the Lord for uniting the people of Wisconsin against the efforts of Obama and his Union Bosses to create socialistic America without constitution in which the communist dictator Obama and his Union bosses dictate the rules for the American people like in oppressive communistic regimes.

Romney is no commie. In fact, he is a very greedy person, and is unable to take criticism easilly.

And, our country has been taking 'special care' of our very wealthy since the beginning. Where have you been, turnup-seed?

Liberals are in an obvious death spin but don't worry.....this country is filled with more ignorant followers than free thinkers. Thanks to public education, the govt. is certain to produce enough dependents to support it. Liberal big govt. supporters are the very people who are creating a divide between the uber rich and the poor because it is eliminating the middle class....the foundation of the United States. The middle class includes blue and white collar workers, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, professors, teachers, plumbers, etc. Small to medium sized businesses were once the main supplier of jobs and opportunity but they have been squelched by liberal policies.

If you want to consider where the power lies in this country.....you need to look to the government. It has grown too big and it's tentacles have reached too far into our lives. Allowing the government to intrude at this magnitude is exactly what is destroying this country. We have allowed our govt. to dictate how our children are to be educated and to take more and more of our hard earned money away from us. We are powerless when it comes to government waste; just look at the GSA and that's only what we've been allowed to know.

Big government wants to divert us away from where the power really lies...the government and the media. The uber rich are more often than not, associated with the government and the media, coincidentally. The vanishing middle class is what separated this country from the socialist Europeans, dictatorships and communists. If you traveled to other countries, you would know that our lifestyle was far superior. Our houses and yards were bigger, there was easier access to nutritious foods, jobs were more plentiful, economic and social opportunities abounded in America, people lived longer, were healthier, better educated, etc. As government became more and more intrusive, this country lost it's leadership position. Govt. schools dumbed down the curriculum, welfare grew and people became lazy, violence increased as ethnic groups mingled, the housing market is going to reset and the standard of living will be lowered. As govt. becomes more involved in our lives, our lives will be more controlled and the ability for us to improve our standard of living will be impeded. It has become most apparent during these obama years. It's the liberal govt. controlled effort that is lowering our standard of living. The uber rich are going to profit no matter who is in power because they collaborate with the government. In fact, the uber rich will gladly take a hit when the libs fake with their class warfare nonsense. Big corps would much prefer to have no competition which is courtesy of the liberal party. A little tax hit here and there will have no real effect if the competition is lessened. It is in our best interest to expand small and medium business to improve the quality of life but also to keep the power from the govt. and their cronies.

Those who are voting for obama are the ones who are going to grow the great divide between the powerful and the poor.
