So, the Governor (Shumlin), now tells the Citizen Legislators (Senate / Legislature) to mind it's own beezwack when it comes to GMP(Gazmetro - Canada)/CVPS merger, but where was Shumlin when the state was butting in to the process with Vermont Yankee? In the middle and pushing for it. What a PUTZ!!!! Can we BEAR this any longer????(And still doing it)

'Idiot Patrol', that means ewe'r like Barney Fife but worse, since he was only a moron, and as Nukedom is doing to the world, he tended to always screw things up

This is straight out of the article.

"When the school distributed iodine pills to the teachers it was a little bit of a shock, because I hadn't really thought about it that much," she said, referring to the pills that were handed out at Brattleboro Union High School during last year's tritium leak to counteract the radiation poisoning. "

This is a high school teacher from Brattleboro High School. You think a high school teacher could do a little research about what iodine pills are used for and it is not tritium. You could not be radiopoisoned by tritium. You would die from an electrolyte imbalance (Hyponatremia) in the body from the volume of water you would have to drink to try and reach a level of observable effects in the body but it would not be radiopoisoning.

I take it you aren't familiar with the level of stupidity that exists in Brattleboro?

Sadly, this is par for the course.

Why blame the teacher ?

Obviously information was not correctly distributed.(what a shock )

The onus should be on the Nuclear Industry that caused the situation that iodine has to be handed out .

Those poignant calendars aren't doing the trick !

Everyone get the glue pots and move back to the condenser.

I'm sure Entergy didn't tell anyone to take it since it only protects against radioactive iodine. There was never a situation at VY that would have caused the distribution of potassium iodide.

Here's what the calendar says:

"Potassium iodide, also known as KI, is a form of iodine. Classified as a drug approved for over-the-counter sale, potassium iodide has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be a safe and effective method to block exposure to one product of a nuclear release, radioactive iodine. "

Perhaps it was nuclear phobia that caused that idiot of a teacher to take medication when it wasn't called for? It certainly wasn't the calendar's fault.

How's your laiser research coming along?

Calendar obviously did not cover all contingencies.
So , the question is who has all the answers ?

Noone .

Harks back once again to details.
Evacuation :Shall we set the scene "Seriously fallen trees, wires down , phones out, power gone , tone radio a beeping, cell phone none because no towers ."

Now presented with this situation what is the evacuation protocol?

Sit tight ?
Will someone send a search party for these poor beleagued hill people?

Does the sit tight contigencies, duck tape their windows?
Attempt to drive around live wires?
Even in ice storms people were completely cut off for days .Days.Trees down , live wires , no power , no phones.

Is anyone looking for these people or is the bedlam created by the mishaps caused the everyman for themselves mentality .

How can one plan for such a disaster scenario?

YOU can't , not unless there is precision and back up meticulous back ups.

Anyone out there see this meticulous planning and precision ?

What about the roads? Best weather conditions , hows that traffic jam going ? Route 91.

The plan is lets hope nothing happens because we sure as hell aren't ready .

The crystal ball is very clear .This is not Nuclear Paranoia. This is looking at a situation not the way you want it to be, not the way you think it should be , but looking at it the way it is.

You sure as hell don't have any answers but the evacuation calendar answered the potassium iodide question just fine.
