Look for same-sex marriage to be a flashpoint in states once again this year, both in legislatures and at the ballot box.

Equality Maine will decide this month whether to put their marriage equality initiative on the ballot for Nov.

We only lost by 33,020 votes in '09. The expected increased turnout of younger voters in 2012 should push us over the top this time.

That would be lovely. Our rigths should never be voted upon, but, if that is what is required by society, then we have to take every avenue available to us.

Remember we tried it the legislative route in Maine the first time, but the anti-gays wouldn't accept that and forced the "voter veto". So it will be sweet justice when we win at the ballot box just 3 years later.

What will the anti-gays do then? Probably sue! Oh the irony.....
